About the album
Work on Void took place in the band’s own studio with producer George Kaleve, whom they first met when recording the single Strange Affection . It was decided to make such an album that would become a turning point both in the music itself and in the group. The recording of the album lasted about 2 months [1] , and then about four months George Kaleve performed his production duties, producing the corresponding sound.
Title
According to Steffen Ket, the name of the album does not reflect the contents of the album (like all the names of previous and albums), but just sounds good (nevertheless, Steffen says that the name indicates an inner void).
Music
According to member of the group Thomas Adam, the music of the album has little in common with traditional synth-pop music of the 80s. [1] Thomas also notes that this album has fewer soft sounds, but more aggressiveness. According to another participant in the project, Steffen Ket, this fact is a natural process taking place in connection with the development of the group’s creativity. According to him, similar changes were already outlined on the single Strange Affection , and this album just continued his musical line. [one]
In addition, the inclusion of the sound of guitars in music was widespread on this album (although the project undertook similar experiments on early recordings, but not in such a volume). The necessary guitarists were selected by the producer of the album, George Kaleva (he worked with them when producing some other releases). One can say about the peculiarities of the stylistic scatter of compositions that the composition Foreigner is designed in the direction of industrial electro-pop, and Prayer is practically a ballad. [1] In addition, on the album you can hear the old composition of the project called Blue Moon in a new processing.
This number is very important for us because because of it WEA (meaning WEA Records) showed interest in us at the time, and their then boss was so delighted with this thing that he did his best to conclude a contract with us. .. This song became our "thank you" to people and the company, who believed in our potential. [2]
“Blue Moon” was supposed to be the first single of the album, however, due to disagreements, apparently, with the record company itself , it was decided to replace it with “ Foreigner ”.
At the end of February 2000, the group first introduced the album "VOID". At four out of five announced concerts there was a full house. Then followed a long tour of Germany. All May the group gave concerts either every day or every other day, visiting most of the major cities of the country. On August 29, 2000, the last concert of the group as a trio took place in Dresden . Marcus Gunssert left De / Vision.

“ Blue Moon '99 ” is a single from De / Vision , which was due to be released in 1999 on the eve of the release of the new album “Void”. It was after the release of the single of the same name and video in 1995 that the large record company WEA drew attention to the group, which signed a contract with them in 1997. And already in 1999, due to disagreements and its vision of promotion, WEA decided not to release this "new-old" single for sale, and part of the already printed run is destroyed. However, two of the four tracks can be found on the single “ Foreigner ” that came out next, another one on the album “Void”, and the remaining fourth one was released in 2002 on the collection “ Remixed ”. " Freedom " is De / Vision's second single from Void. The group shot a video for the song . The remix for the song “Remember” turned out to be interesting, and apparently the name of the mix is not by chance “Sweet Harmony mix”, because the melody of the composition very much coincides with the melody of the song of the band The Beloved - “Sweet Harmony”, released in 1993 .
