MATAM is a special department for special investigations and missions within the investigation department of the Israeli National Police . It is engaged in investigations, detentions and prosecution of violators in cases of state security , combating organized crime and drug smuggling, collecting information about the criminal world, Palestinian terrorist groups , individuals and organizations [1] .
Structure
It consists of four units: intelligence, security, general, national minorities. It has a modern system for processing and accumulating information, which is used by other Israeli special services [2] .
