Christmas, Zhanna Germanovna

Born in the city of Rtishchevo, Saratov region . Engaged in singing since childhood. She graduated from the Rtishchev School of Music, where she was considered one of the best students. In 1970, she successfully graduated from the Saratov School of Music with a degree in the theory of music and composition.

From 1971 to 1973, she headed the VIA "Singing Hearts" ^{[3] of the} Saratov Philharmonic , in which she was also a soloist, played the electric organ and piano . ^[4] She was invited by the director Lev Gorelik to the Saratov Theater of Miniatures led by him in the pop musical “This is not a telephone conversation ...”. Wife Gorelik, who graduated from the conservatory in vocal class, studied with Zhanna for several years. ^[2] Then, with the musicians of the theater, Jeanne organized the folklore ensemble “ Saratov Accordions ”, in which she became a graduate of the 5th All-Union Pop Art Competition in 1975. Having received an invitation to work in the capital, he moves with the ensemble to Moscow , where he works first at the Soyuzgoszirk (thanks to which he receives a residence permit), and then at the Moscow Music Hall.

In 1976, Jeanne won the first prize at the International Carnation of Political Song in Sochi “ Red Carnation ”, performing the aria of the Star from the rock opera “The Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta” ^{[ specify ] by} Alexey Rybnikov , and in 1978 he was already involved in recording the opera on the disc, performing the parts of Zvezda and Teresa.

In 1979, takes part in the recording of another famous rock opera by Alexei Rybnikov on the disc - Juno and Avos . Moreover, the performed aria of the Blessed Virgin, in which Jeanne reaches the upper E flat of the third octave , ^[2] remained unsurpassed, and in subsequent productions this phonogram was used. In addition, Jeanne often collaborates with Mosfilm , performing songs for movies.

Since the early 1980s, she worked at Rosconcert . Four years in a row (1980-1983) Jeanne was among the five best singers of the USSR hit parade "Sound Track" ^{[5] [6]} .

In the 1990s, she was left without work, but thanks to Alexei Rybnikov, she got a job as a vocal teacher at the Moscow Clownery Theater, where she still works. Sometimes performs in national concerts.

In 2002, together with her daughter Olga participated in the recording of a new version of the rock opera “ Juno and Avos ”.

At the end of 2008, she took part in the new version of the rock opera “Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta”, where she was responsible for staging vocal numbers. The role of Joaquin was played by Dmitry Koldun , and the role of his beloved Teresa was Svetlana Svetikova . The premiere of the new production of the rock opera took place on November 27, 2008 in Moscow, in the Mir Concert Hall.

In 2015, she became one of the mentors of the Russian television project “ Main Stage ”.

The mother of singer Olga Rozhdestvenskaya , sister of the opera singer and founder of the Bard-retro club Oleg Rozhdestvensky (December 20, 1953 - December 12, 2009) ^[7] . Contrary to popular belief, she was not related to the poet Robert Rozhdestvensky , whose poetry she sang. He lives in Moscow.
