Contact network test car (abbreviated as VIKS ) is a track (measuring) electric train used for diagnosing and testing contact network facilities on electrified railways.
In contrast to the contact network laboratory car , for greater autonomy, they were made on the basis of separate sections of electric trains , by means of their radical reconstruction. It was an elektromotris with installed electro - diagnostic equipment. Most of the well-known VIKS electric railcars were produced on the basis of the electric wagons Ср and Ср3 .
Designed for diagnosing the contact network, for deterioration, conductivity, etc.
