In 2007, Armenia for the first time participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest . Having made its debut, Armenia sent a popular group of its country “ Arevik ” [1] with the song Dream to Rotterdam . The group took 2nd place, behind the representative from Belarus, Alexei Zhigalkovich, by only 1 point, while Belarus voted the very last. In 2008, Armenia was introduced by Monika Manucharova from the city of Gyumri with the song “Im ergi hnchuny” , which took 8th place. And in 2009, Loire Hayrapetyan represented Armenia with the song “Barcelona” , which brought Armenia, sharing the second place with the participant from Russia , Katya Ryabova . Armenia won for the first time in 2010 , when the country was represented by Vladimir Arzumanyan , a native of Nagorno-Karabakh , who scored 120 points with the song “Mom”. The victory was won by a margin from Russia which took second place, at 1 point. On her native land in Yerevan in 2011 , singer Dalita sang “Welcome to Armenia” and took fifth place among 13 participants. In 2012 , the Compass Band represented Armenia with the song “Sweetie Baby” in Amsterdam and took 3rd place there. At the 2013 competition, Armenia was represented by Monika Avanesyan, who performed “Choco Fabric” in Kiev , taking 6th place. In 2014, Armenia sent the famous Armenian singer and TV presenter Elizabeth Danielyan to Malta, who performed under the name Betty. There she performed a song of her own composition “People Of The Sun” and took 3rd place with a margin of 1 point from the representative of Bulgaria Chrisia Todorova. In 2015, Mikael Varosyan (Mika) introduced Armenia through internal selection. With his song “Love” he took second place [2] . In 2016, Armenia was represented by the duet Anahit and Mary, who was selected by internal selection on August 10, 2016. On October 28, the song "Tarber" was introduced. On November 20, 2016, with their song “Tarber,” they took second place, losing only to Mariam Mamadashvili from Georgia. In 2017, Armenia again selects the participant by internal selection. The participant from Armenia in Tbilisi at the Junior Eurovision 2017 was Mikhail Grigoryan with the song “Boomerang”, where he took 6th place. In 2018, Armenia returned to the open selection of artist and song choices. The winner of the selection and the representative of Armenia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk was LEVON with the song LEVON, where he took 9th place. In 2019, Armenia will continue to choose its member and song through open selection. Applications are accepted until August 10, 2019.
