The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 is the eighth Junior Eurovision Song Contest , which took place on November 20, 2010 in the capital of Belarus , Minsk . [3] The venue was the sports complex Minsk-Arena . The winner of the competition is the representative of Armenia Vladimir Arzumanyan with the song βMamaβ [4] .

Contest Organization History
Venue
In February 2009, the Council of the European Broadcasting Union elected three finalist countries, claiming to host the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The finalists are Belarus , Russia and Malta . On June 5, 2009, a meeting of the Council of the European Broadcasting Union was held in Kiev , organized for the final selection of the country that will host the competition. Finalist countries presented their ideas for the competition. As a result, the Council of the European Broadcasting Union chose Belarus. [five]
The competition was held on November 20, 2010 in the sports complex " Minsk-Arena ". The head of the organization of Junior Eurovision is assigned to Belteleradiocompany , which is the only member of the European Broadcasting Union in Belarus. [five]
By the end of October 2010, work began on preparing the Minsk-Arena scene for the competition. The stage designer is Ulf Martenson. According to the plans, 15 thousand people will be accommodated in the auditorium - in addition to 14 thousand people in the stands a dance floor for a thousand people will be equipped in the hall. The editing of the stage was completed on November 15th . [6]
Due to the large number of spectators of the competition on November 19 and 20, three additional public transport routes run to Minsk-Arena. The total number of buses and trolley buses passing by the complex has been increased by fifty. [7]
Format of conducting
On July 28, 2010, the European Broadcasting Union confirmed the list of countries that will compete. 14 countries participated. This year, Moldova debuted, Cyprus and Romania withdrew their applications. Also Latvia and Lithuania returned to the competition. Sweden has changed Broadcast, instead of TV4 SVT is responsible for the competition. [eight]
On September 6, the contest leaders were officially announced. According to the results of the castings of Belteleradiocompany, their role was assigned to the Belarusian journalist Denis Kuryan and a student Leila Ismailova .
On October 14 in Minsk, a meeting of the heads of the delegations of the participating countries took place, during which the draw procedure for the contestants' speeches and a discussion of the details of the upcoming competition was carried out.
On October 15, the final results of the draw were announced to Belteleradiocompany. Became known the order of performance of the contestants.
On October 24, the European Broadcasting Union and Belteleradiocompany presented a UNICEF song βA Day Without Warβ, which was performed by Dmitry Koldun at the competition. The author of the music is Bagrat Vardanyan , the text was written by Dmitry Basik .
The last yearβs executive supervisor for the contest was Svante Stockselius . Alexander Martynenko, deputy chairman of Belteleradiocompany, was appointed executive producer . Show producer of the competition - Gleb Shappo. The co-producer was the United Nations Children's Fund . The competition was covered by 250 journalists from different countries [10] [11] .
Euroweek
The Euroweek takes place from November 13 to 21 in Minsk, during which various events are organized for the contest participants.
November 15 at the Palace of the Republic held the opening ceremony of the competition. Also on this day, postcards for each participating country were filmed and a UNICEF song was recorded.
On November 18, the first large-scale press conference was held in Minsk-Arena, where journalists asked questions to the winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest of all past years. [ten]
From November 16 to November 18, in Minsk-Arena, rehearsals of performances of participants took place, November 19 and 20 - dress rehearsals of the competition, during which the jury evaluations were made. [12]

Contest progress
The competition began at 2115, Minsk time, with a Belarus commercial. After it sounded the song βHello, Eurovisionβ performed by Ksenia Sitnik and Alexey Zhigalkovich . Then, after the speeches of the presenters (when the voting of the TV viewers also began), all the contestants entered the stage and went to the Green Room, the main presentations began in the order shown in the table below.
After the speeches, a brief review of the last numbers and speeches of the presenters, Alexander Rybak sang the song βEurope's Skiesβ Then, after a repeated overview of the numbers, the presenters counted out the last seconds of the vote and announced its end. After that, Dmitry Koldun , accompanied by the contestants, performed the song βA Day Without Warβ. Next, the winners of the competitions of all the past years performed a potpourri mix consisting of excerpts of winning songs.
Last but not least, before the announcement of the results, the Executive Director Swante Stockselius announced that the results had been obtained. Then began the traditional announcement of ratings. It turned out that the representative of Armenia, Vladimir Arzumanyan, won the contest with the song βMamaβ. He was awarded an award of the competition, and then sounded his song, closing the competition.

International Broadcasts
The competition was broadcast to all countries participating in the competition, as well as to Australia , New Zealand .
According to the Armenian media, the broadcast of the competition was allegedly interrupted in Azerbaijan after the winner became known. In response to this, Tair Mamedov, head of the public relations department of the Azerbaijani television channel ITV, said that the television channel ITV did not broadcast the Eurovision 2010 contest for children on November 20 [15] .
