Andrei Germanovich Volos (born August 4, 1955 , Stalinabad ) is a Russian writer.

Biography

Born in the family of the candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences German Stepanovich Volos. He graduated from the Gubkin Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry with a degree in geophysics ( 1977 ). He returned to Dushanbe, where he was engaged in translations of Tajik poetry. In 1979 he made his debut with his own poems in the magazine "Pamir". The first book, the poetry collection “Old Highway”, was published in 1988 . Since the late 1980s, he began to write prose. Member of the Union of Writers of Moscow . Lives in Moscow.

His first novel Khurramabad (2000) received the State Prize of Russia , Antibooker , the Russian-Italian award Moscow-Penne, as well as prizes from the magazines Znamya and Novy Mir . [one]
