She began her career as an actress at the Civil Theater, which her father founded. In 1936-1939 she studied at the Finnish Actor School, then, in 1938-1939, she worked at the Vyborg City Theater .
After the beginning of the Winter War, she moved to the Helsinki City Theater , where she quickly gained popularity among both the public and critics . From 1948, she began working at the Radioteatre, at the same time she began taking singing lessons from .
In 1997 she recorded the song “Tuo suru jonka sain”. She also recorded duets “Cowboy-serenadi” with Tapio Rautavaara in 1949 and “Riihentontun joulu” with in 1958.
