The Ciudurnes region is one of the 8 regions of Iceland and is located in the southwestern part of the country. Geographically, it occupies most of the Reykjanes Peninsula. To the west and south of the Sydürnes region is the Atlantic Ocean ; In the north of it lies the Höwüdborgarsweidid region , in the east - the Südürland region . Südürnes Square is 829 km². The population is 21,564 people (as of December 1, 2008 ). The population density is 26.35 people / km². The center of the region is Keflavik .
