Uncyclopedia

Uncyclopedia (literally, from English. - "Non-cyclopaedia") is an international comic wiki - an encyclopedia , a parody analogue of Wikipedia [5] . Other names: "Ancyclopedia" (from the English. Uncyclopedia ), "Bredopedia", "Noncyclopedia". The task of the Ancyclopedia is to write parody variants of encyclopedic articles from a satirical or humorous point of view [6] . There are no clear restrictions or rules for writing articles in the Ancyclopedia - the main condition is the availability of humor for wide sections of readers [6] . To achieve the goal, different types of humor are used: parody, satire, illogical absurd conclusions. Ancyclopaedia often attracts the media with articles about people and places.

Founded on January 5, 2005, Jonathan Huang (known by the Internet pseudonym "Chronarion") [7] and his partner with the pseudonym "Stillwaters" or "Euniana" [8] [9] originally as an English-language project on Wikia . Both founders of Ancyclopedia were editors of Wikipedia [10] [11] . Ancyclopedia, which began as an independent project, quickly outgrew its initial hosting and its head, Jonathan Huang, began to search for a new hosting. May 26, 2005 Angela Beesley, Vice President, Wikia, Inc. , agreed to accept the Ancyclopedia on Wikia [12] . On July 10, 2006, Huang transferred the ownership of the domain name Uncyclopedia.org to Wikia. Most of the language sections of Ancyclopedia are under their own localized names, on completely independent domains or on Wikia.com subdomains [13] . The project is currently working in 75 languages. The largest sections: English (30 thousand articles), which ranks second after the Portuguese [14] [15] . Articles are written as encyclopedic parodies [8] [16] . Powered by MediaWiki engine.

Sections in many languages, except for part of the projects located on AnMeta's servers, are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) 3.0 license, (American) English - under its non-commercial version CC-BY-NC-SA 2.0. Content Ancyclopedia is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 license. [7] .

Description

The purpose of the Ancyclopedia is to “provide misinformation in the world as far as possible in the most satirical and humorous way” [7] . The Wikipedia article in the Ancyclopedia states that Wikipedia is actually a parody of the Ancyclopedia, and not vice versa [17] . The information in the articles is parodied, fabricated or ridiculed to such an extent that there is almost no reliable information and the article often contradicts itself. However, according to Ancyclopedia, the best satire is the one that is true. By analogy with the Wikipedia 5 pillars, the “British English” Ancyclopedia has its own 5 flat-nose pliers , including the “satirical point of view” [18] . In the Russian-Olban section of the Ancyclopedia, they are localized as “5 wells” [19] . In addition to the rules of Wikipedia parody, the “British English” Ancyclopedia has 3 basic rules: “Be funny and not just stupid” (“Be funny, not just stupid”), “Don't be a dick” (“Don't be an asshole” ) and “Dance like you never danced before!” (“Dance like you never danced before”) [9] [20] . In the Russian-Albanian section are localized as "Three whales" [21] .

Ancyclopedia was founded in January 2005 by Jonathan Huang as a satirical parody of Wikipedia . One of the prototypes of Ancyclopedia was a page in Wikipedia devoted to jokes inappropriate in the encyclopedia ( Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense , “Humor is not in place”).

The original English name Uncyclopedia contains an interesting pun , which acquires a special satirical meaning in conjunction with Encyclopedia : for a bit more free reading of the word Encyclopedia, it sounds comparable to Russian cyclo-pedia , while Uncyclopedia evokes an almost direct interpretation as racyclo-pedia .

Despite the variety of humorous techniques used (from the absurd to the ironic rethinking of the relevant articles from Wikipedia), there are a number of jokes that are characteristic only of Ancyclopedia. An example would be fictional, reworked or completely invented quotes of famous personalities, placed at the beginning of the articles of the draft. In the English-language section, the lion’s share of such quotations is attributed to Oscar Wilde (initially such quotes had a single structure of the type “England’s national sport”), with the systematized sayings of the fake Wilde set forth in the Unquotes book. In the Hebrew section of the Ancyclopedia , a similar role was assigned to the false messiah Sabbatai Zvi , and in Russian / Albanian - to Darth Herohito - to the collective image of the Japanese emperors and Darth Vader. Allusion to the Cthulhu myths and the works of George Orwell are popular in English and Russian Ancyclopedias.

In addition to the main project, the Encyclopedia includes several minor subprojects (known as “UnProjects”) [9] [22] . As of November 2007, there are 12 such projects [23] , each of which specializes in a particular style of satire. Many of these projects are a direct analogy to the related projects of Wikipedia.

Ancyclopaedia has its own system of reviewing articles, where humor, spelling, grammar, images used and the overall impression of the article are evaluated separately. The review of the Ancyclopedia is called Pee Review and is a parody of the Peer Review (Wikipedia: Review) [24] . The review of the Ancyclopedia is interlanguage and not closed on one section [25] . By analogy with the review of articles, there is a review of humorous images.

Due to the large flow of articles to the Ancyclopedia, administrators have to fulfill the role of censors or critics who exclude articles that do not meet the standards of the Ancyclopedia. Like Wikipedia in the Ancyclopedia, there are restrictions on creating articles about yourself. At first, articles about themselves were welcomed in Ancyclopedia if there was humor there. However, the writing of such articles caused conflicts between users, so ultimately they were banned [9] . There are rules of behavior similar to Wikipedia in Ancyclopedia (for example, two warnings are followed by temporary blocking), but the rules themselves have funny, sounding names for parodying the Wikipedia system itself.

Press Reviews

Ancyclopaedia is often mentioned in news publications of the world media, not to mention local and regional newspapers and magazines. In 2005, the Ancyclopedia article about the Flying Spaghetti Monster was mentioned in the New York Times in a column devoted to the spread of “ pastafarianism ” - a parody religion worshiping the Flying Spaghetti Monster [26] . Subsequently, the article was reprinted in other newspapers, including the Taipei Times [27] . In May 2007, the article “Huang [9] ” devoted to the Ancyclopedia was posted in the “.net” magazine. Also, some newspapers published articles on specific pages of the Ancyclopedia — for example, an article in the Arizona Daily Star told about a parody of the city of Tucson , Arizona [28] . Also in Cyprus Mail was published an article devoted to a humorous parody of Cyprus [29] .

In addition to articles devoted to individual pages of the Ancyclopedia, there are several works describing the project as a whole, mainly devoted to technology or the Internet. Articles about the Encyclopedia appeared in the Boston Herald and the Guardian [30] [31] . In addition to articles entirely devoted to the project, there are publications about Wikia or Wikipedia, where the Ancyclopedia is also mentioned. The Encyclopedia was mentioned once on the Register news site when discussing the incident with the biography of John Social Agent [32] . The encyclopedia was named one of the top 100 websites in PC Magazine [33] , as well as among the 101 most useful websites on the Internet according to The Sunday Telegraph [34] . Seattle Post-Intelligencer considers the Ancyclopedia to be the best version of The Onion [35] .

Criticism and controversy

In May 2006, the New Zealand newspaper The New Zealand Herald published an article with a statement from teachers and directors of King's College, who accused Ancyclopedia and Bebo of carrying out cybermobing . The mobile phone number of one of the students of Epsom Girls' Grammar School was placed in Ancyclopedia without her knowledge, after which an offensive message arrived at the indicated number. Representatives of several educational institutions expressed concern that many students publish full names and photos on their personal pages in the Ancyclopedia [36] . This story forced the Ancyclopedia administrators to review the cybersecurity project policy (which was previously extremely weak) and take steps to prevent the use of the Ancyclopedia for Internet threats [37] [38] [39] . The encyclopedia has been criticized for racist humor and incitement to hatred [40] [41] , but according to Huang, racist articles are being corrected [42] .

Articles in the Ancyclopedia can negatively affect the reputation of companies [43] [44] .

In June 2007, representatives of the tourism business sharply criticized an article in the Ancyclopedia on the English Lake District . They called for tightening control over the content of the Ancyclopedia. This story was published in the evening edition of the local English newspaper North-West Evening Mail [45] . However, no concessions from the Ancyclopedia was made. Moreover, the article that caused the scandal was posted on the main page of the Ancyclopedia [46] . A similar incident occurred in November 2007, when the Ancyclopedia article about Northern Ireland was heavily criticized by a Northern Irish politician, James McCurry. He called the Ancyclopedia a “shameful website” and promised, with the help of the advice of Moyle, “to get it removed”. However, the article is still in place. Belorussian city council member from the Catholic right-wing organizations, Conor Muskei, and Portadown News creator Newton Emerson disagreed with Jamesos McCurry and said that people should be less serious about Ancyclopedia. This story was published in The Belfast Telegraph [47] .

A similar incident occurred in April 2008, when public leaders of the city of Telford (Shropshire, United Kingdom) criticized an article in the Ancyclopedia about the city, where it was written “is a world leader in the production, reproduction and reproduction of Chavs ” [48] . Another article by Ancyclopedia about the city of Shrewsbury (Shropshire county) characterizes it as the birthplace of Charles Darwin and offensively calls its inhabitants monkeys, which turned into sheep [49] . The encyclopaedia was also mentioned in the Sioux City Journal for an article on the city of Sioux City Iowa [50] , in Hawke's Bay Today for an article on Flaxmere [51] and Lochaber News for an article on Fort William in Scotland [52] .

In January 2008, the Ministry of the Interior of Malaysia issued a directive urging newspapers not to trust the Ancyclopedia. The statement said that the Malaysian article contains “lies, insults and ridicule” and dishonors the country [53] [54] . The participants in the Ancyclopedia found this statement ridiculous and subsequently parodied it in the UnNews section [55] [56] . As of February 2010, the Encyclopedia is blocked in China [57] .

In December 2008, the company Video Professor filed a lawsuit against Ancyclopedia for libel and illegal use of the trademark. The lawsuit required the removal within 48 hours of all articles related to Video Professor [58] . Ancyclopedia refused to comply with this requirement. Instead of deleting, the article on Video Professor was first rewritten and then turned into a redirection to a satirical article about the main character of the commercials of Video Professor John Scherer [59] .

Ancyclopaedia uses a logo similar to the Wikipedia logo [60] , which may confuse inexperienced users, who will accept the information in the Ancyclopedia as reliable [61] [62] . In this regard, in 2012, a special warning template was added to the front page of the Ancyclopedia that this is a humorous site with inaccurate information. This template appears when the user first visits the site, as well as at regular intervals on subsequent visits.

On November 8, 2012, in accordance with the law “On protecting children from information harmful to their health and development” and amendments thereto, for a comic article “How to commit suicide”, a copy of the Russian section of the Ancyclopedia on Wikia was included in the unified register of prohibited sites [63 ] . November 13, 2012 after its removal [64] the resource was unlocked [65] . (see also the corresponding section in the article on Absurdopedia )

Ancyclopedia language sections

Unlike Wikipedia , the language sections of the Encyclopedia are located on different servers. Until the spring of 2019, about a quarter of them were hosted by Wikia , another group of sections was organized on the servers of the coordinating inter-link of the non-profit organization Uncyclomedia (UnMeta), there were also three independent sections (one of two Russians, a Korean and one of two English). [1] . According to other sources, 25% (or 20 of 79) sections of the Encyclopedia were posted on Wikia [7] . Another 6 language sections from Uncyclopedia Babel were located on specialized non-Flash servers. In 2006, the Un-Meta Wiki was created to coordinate the language sections of the Ancyclopedia (collectively “Uncyclomedia Babble Project”) [66] .

On February 26, 2019 , Wikia demanded that the communities of all sections of the Ancyclopedias release the hosting service in March by sending a standard message through their PR director [67] On Mete, a topic on the reorganization of language sections was created: some of them went to the free Wikimra Miraheze, on the server Uncyclomedia, and part on independent hosting. As a result, the English status of “British English” was assigned to the English section from Wikia to distinguish it from the early fork on the Canadian server. The Russian section, which moved from Wikia to an independent server, became “Olbanese” in order to distinguish it by interwiki from a previously forked Russian-language project. [68]

The largest section, Portuguese (43,242 articles), is located on UnMeta. The second in terms of articles, English (29,714 pieces) is independent.

It is worth noting that in German there are three sections Uncyclopedia: Kamelopedia , Stupidedia and the English section of de.uncyclopedia.org [1] adjacent to the English. There are two Uncyclopedia sections in Chinese: in traditional Chinese [69] and in simplified modern [70] .

  • The coordinating organization UnMeta (meta.uncyclomedia.org) [71] .
  • Full list of all sections:
  • The 10 largest sections of the Ancyclopedia in descending order: Portuguese, English, German (Stupidedia), Japanese, Polish, German (Kamelopedia), Italian, Spanish, French and Finnish.
  • All language sections of Ancyclopedia have common features: logos and names retain a similarity to English analogues (for example, the Un particle in the name), the list of subprojects is duplicated in all versions (for example, UnNews [72] ).
  • The first language section not in English was French, created in June 2005 [73] , and the 50th language section was Welsh on February 20, 2008.

The ten largest sections

Portuguese Section (Desciclopédia)

Currently, the Portuguese section (Desciclopédia) with 40 thousand articles is the largest language section of the Ancyclopedia. Founded in August 2005 [74] . Portuguese Ancyclopedia was the idea of creating the fictional character of Dr. Robert (Portuguese Doutor Roberto) - satire on the powerful owner of the company Globo Roberto Marinho. Portuguese Ancyclopedia pays special attention to mocking prominent Brazilian filmmakers and politicians. For example, Brazilian comedienne Dersi Gonsalves is depicted posing for Playold magazine (instead of Playboy ).

(Uncyclopedia)

Initially, the Ancyclopedia was located at uncyclopedia.org , but was subsequently bought by Wikia and moved to uncyclopedia.wikia.com . Like Wikipedia, Ancyclopedia has its own guidelines [84] , which have become stricter over time. Wikia itself also introduced additional restrictions, including the prohibition of pornographic images and the limitation of liability (a warning template), requiring the consent of novice users.

January 5, 2013 in the English Ancyclopedia there was a split and its fork was made. Many participants and administrators of Ancyclopedia left the site on Wikia in protest against the policy of the Wikia administrators, in particular, censoring images and posting a warning pattern of disclaimer. [85] [86] [87] . The new Wikia-independent website was posted at en.uncyclopedia.co . Wikia kept a copy of the Ancyclopedia at the original address uncyclopedia.wikia.com , and some members and administrators stayed there. Owners and management of the new site were not disclosed.

There is also a copy of the English mirror.uncyc.org at mirror.uncyc.org . It is updated manually, so it does not reflect the current state of affairs on the Ancyclopedia. But it contains copies of deleted articles.

One of the favorite themes of the English Ancyclopedia is " Kitten Huffing " (breathing in the soul of a cat as a form of drug addiction).

German section (Stupidedia)

The German section (Stupidedia) ranks third in the number of articles among the language sections of the Encyclopedia. Stupidedia (the name is formed by combining the words stupid and encyclopedia) is an Austrian wiki project dedicated to writing satirical and humorous articles [88] [89] . Stupidedia was created on December 17, 2004 by David Sowka. Thus, it is the first comic wiki project in history. In 2010, Stupidedia joined the international project Uncyclopedia and became its German section. As of May 2011, Stupidedia is the largest German-speaking wiki project of a humorous nature and includes 19,200 articles. Her motto is “Wissen Sie Bescheid? Nein? Wir auch nicht! ”(“ Do you know? No? We are not either! ”).

Japanese section (Ansaikuropedeĭa)

The Japanese section (ア ン サ イ ク ロ ロ ペ デ ィ アsa Ansaikuropedeĭa ) is the fourth largest language section of the Ancyclopaedia and includes a little more than 10 thousand articles [90] . The name of the section comes from the Japanese transliteration of the word Katykan Uncyclopedia [91] . Japanese Ancyclopedia was founded in December 2005 [92] . Her “news” section is known for duplicating and ridiculing the real news, which caused an angry reaction on Twitter .

Polish section (Nonsensopedia)

The Polish section (Nonsensopedia) is the fifth largest language section of the Ancyclopedia and has 19321 articles. Its home page is located at Strona główna Nonsensopedii . There are several subprojects in the Polish Ancyclopedia: NonNews (parodies of real or fictional news), Słownik (parody and slang dictionary), Cytaty (quote) and Gra (description of games).

German section (Kamelopedia)

The German section (Kamelopedia) is the sixth largest language section of the Ancyclopedia. The name of this satirical project comes from the combination of the words camel and encyclopedia. The meaning of the name is that the participants of Kamelopedia joke like camels (including in the figurative sense). Created in 2004 as an independent wikiproekt with interwiki from other Ancyclopedias and, like others, it positions itself as a parody of Wikipedia [93] [94] [95] . Kamelopedia has modeled its own Wikimedia foundation projects: Kamelionary (dictionary), KameloNews (news resource), Kamelomedia Commons (media file storage) and Kamelobooks (library of humorous books).

Italian Section (Nonciclopedia)

Ranked seventh in the number of articles among other language sections of the Ancyclopedia. Nonciclopedia (Italian Ancyclopedia) was founded on November 3, 2005 and includes over 10 thousand articles. Like the English Uncyclopedia, it has many subprojects: Manuali, a collection of fake or humorous textbooks about weird arguments (for example, “How to beat England in 4 steps”) [96] , Horroscopo, fake horoscopes, Wikinews parodies, Walk of Shame, Alley parodies fame, which contains the best articles. Like many other language sections of the Ancyclopedia, the Italian project has an article competition of the week, and some pages have audio files with a vocal narration of the article’s plot. Typical objects for humor and satire: Chuck Norris, Pierre Paolo Pasolini, Silvio Berlusconi, the emo subculture, Nietzsche, Germano Mosconi, the fictional staff of Svervegia (literally Swederway) and people who destroy Nonciclopedia as a sign of resentment for the article. Currently, the themes of Chuck Noriss, Svervegia and emo subcultures are under an informal ban (especially for newbies) and new articles are allowed to write on them only in rare cases. In October 2011, the Italian Ancyclopedia was briefly closed by administrators due to threats of prosecution from Vasco Rossi [97] . This caused a strong protest movement on Facebook and other social networks [97] .

Spanish section (Inciclopedia)

Ranked eighth in the number of articles among other language sections of the Ancyclopedia. The Spanish Encyclopedia (Inciclopedia) was created in February 2006 [98] to preserve the content of the closed Spanish comic project Frikipedia. Frikipedia was closed at the request of Sociedad General de Autores y Editores [99] (Spanish copyright protection organization), which was unhappy with the performance of Frikipedia against it [98] . Subsequently, Frikipedia was reopened.

Famous figures in Chile, folk singer El Monteaguilino and Senator Pedro Muñoz, expressed their disagreement with Inciclopedia because of bullying the Chilean flag and national symbols [100] . Noche Hache (Spanish TV Cuatro TV program) also noted a joke on Spanish presidential candidate Eva Hache [101] .

French section (Désencyclopédie)

It ranks ninth in the number of articles among the language sections of the Encyclopedia. The French section of the Ancyclopaedia (Désencyclopédie) was created on June 30, 2005 [102] by a Quebec blogger. In the French section of the Ancyclopedia, every year a vote is taken on a selection of the best articles. The first ten places of the article are placed on a special page. The rating system allows readers to find articles of a certain quality, and also increases the incentive for editors to write better content. The authors of the best articles receive awards, which increases the level of competition on the site and attracts new editors. The French section of the Ancyclopedia gradually departs from the function of only a parody of Wikipedia and turns into a humorous site of the widest profile, where they try to develop all the comic directions from satire to absurdity. In addition to the articles of the standard encyclopedic format, articles appeared in the style of a work of art in the French Ancyclopedia. In the French Ancyclopedia, quality control of articles is carried out, and unfunny articles (mostly copied from classical Wikipedia) are deleted. Also subject to removal is an article whose humor is understandable only to a limited group of people and articles that violate the laws of France. In the French Ancyclopedia, there are sub-projects similar to those of Wikimedia — for example, a quotation book or news. Articles in other language sections of the Ancyclopedia are given interwiki. There is an analogue of Wikimedia Commons, images from which can be used in any language section of the Encyclopedia. Interlingual coordination has been established.

Finnish section (Hikipedia)

The Finnish section of the Ancyclopedia (Hikipedia) ranks tenth in the number of articles among the language sections of the Ancyclopedia and has 6873 articles. The name “Hikipedia” is a combination of the words “hiki” (sweat) and “Wikipedia”. The Finnish section of the Ancyclopedia was created in April 2005. At the end of 2011, the Finnish Ancyclopedia had about 38 thousand views [103] .

Danish Section (Spademanns Leksikon)

The Danish section of the Ancyclopedia ranks 11th in the number of articles. Danish Ancyclopedia (Spademanns Leksikon [104] ) was founded in 2006 by the user Lhademmor. In addition to the name, which differs from the traditional names of the language sections of the Encyclopedia, the image of the globe in the form of fragments is not used as the project logo. The logo of the Danish section of the Ancyclopedia resembles the logo of Ekstra Bladet, the largest newspaper in Denmark . As of 2012, the Danish section of the Ancyclopedia contained more than 6 thousand articles. The most popular joke hero is Chuck Norris . Writing articles in the style of Hans Christian Andersen is popular in the Danish Ancyclopedia.

The fictional heroes Omboo Hankvald, Hermod Spademann, Gubernichte Hankvald (Omboos mother) and Troels Hartmann occupy an important place in the mythology of the Danish Ancyclopedia. Barry White is used as an image of God [105] .

German section (Uncyclopedia)

The German section of the Ancyclopedia (Uncyclopedia) ranks 12th among all language sections by the number of articles. It is the third humorous project in German [1] and is inferior in the number of articles (5865) to the other two: Kamelopedia with 12181 articles and Stupidedia with 21556 articles (data on February 18, 2013). Like other language sections, the basic rule of Uncyclopedia is the satirical point of view (analogue of VP: NTZ ). There are some criteria for the quality of articles and evaluation of vandalism: the best in terms of style and level of humor are included in the category “Excellent articles” (“ausgezeichnete Artikel”). And if in the English section a popular literary device ( Running gag ) is to use fictional quotes in the style of Oscar Wilde (which precede each article there), in the German section David Hasselhoff style originally played a similar role. However, later these quotes were recognized as not ridiculous enough and were gradually replaced by quotations in the style of Erhart Heinz or famous politicians and public figures. Recently, satirical texts in the style of plays have been added to the German section. Since the spring of 2007, the German section followed the path of the English project; the sub-projects Wikinews, Wikibooks, and Wiktionary appeared in it. The owner of the domain "Uncyclopedia.org" is the founder of Wikipedia Jimbo Wales . According to him, he bought the domain, but does not participate in the project [106] . In the German satirical magazine Titanic highly appreciated Uncyclopedia humor and separately noted the possibility of comparing the humor of different countries of the world [107] .

Chinese section (首頁)

A section in traditional Chinese, one of two sections of Uncyclopedia in Chinese. In terms of the number of articles, it ranks 13th among all language sections [1] . All articles are classified into 11 main categories [112] . Instead of the traditional image, the Korean section uses fish with a fishing rod as the emblem. Hosted on a separate server "백괴 미디어 공용" (analogous to Wikimedia Commons). The content of this section is available under license CC-BY-NC-SA 2.5 [113] . In the Korean section, there is an institution of selected articles [114] (currently 91 articles [115] ). By analogy with other language sections, it has its own subprojects: 백괴 뉴스 (Wikinews), 낱말 사전 (Wiktionary), 백괴 책 (Wikibooks), 백괴 인용집 (Wikiquote), 백괴 배움터 (백괴 대학교) (Wikiversity), 백괴 게임 (Un- Games), 백괴 미디어 공용 (Commons), 방법 ( en: wikiHow ). Russian section (Absurdopedia)

Founded on February 24, 2006 by a member of the English Ancyclopedia (Uncyclopedia) Sikon (LucidFox). Initially, a single Russian section was located on Wikia at absurdopedia.wikia.com [5] [6] , but on October 3, 2010 a bifurcation occurred and it was duplicated on a separate server from absurdopedia.net [118] [119] [120] . The move of the community that was active at that time was officially recognized by UnMeta [1] [121] as the coordinating activity of the Ancyclopaedia, and the inter-ar “ru” links were reconfigured from Vijia to the new site, while interwiki in such large sections of the Ancyclopaedia as German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Danish, Chinese led to the old site, interwiki in Portuguese, Dutch, Finnish, Korean, Japanese - to a new one. The English section of the Ancyclopedia on Wikia, respectively, was associated with the old site, the English section of the Ancyclopedia on independent hosting - with the new one. At the same time, the Absurdopedia on Wikia was not removed and continued to develop independently (there were 4001 articles as of February 17, 2018 ) [122] [123] . In March 2019, the Vijyka Absurdopedia was forced [124] to move to the independent domain absurdopedia.wiki [125] , followed by the removal of the left mirror on April 3. The move was officially recognized by the UnMeta organization coordinating the activities of the Ancyclopedia with the assignment of the olb interdiction [126] - the olbanian language, which is submitted as “network Russian” for conditional distinction from the previously separated site.

Dutch section (Oncyclopedia)

The Netherlands section of the Ancyclopedia ranks 23rd in the number of articles. The Netherlands Ancyclopedia (Oncyclopedia) was established in June 2006. In the first six months, the number of articles increased to 350. In March 2007, the number of articles reached 500. 150 short articles were transferred to the subproject “OnWoordenboek der Nederlandse Taal” (in the literal translation of the “Dutch language dictionary”). However, even without taking into account these articles, the size of the Netherlands Ancyclopedia for 3 months of 2007 has increased by 2 times. In February 2007, the second sub-project OnNieuws (UnNews) was launched - news. Allowed either completely fictional news, or parodies of real news reports. On March 15, 2007, it was decided to change the name [127] from Onziclopedie to Oncyclopedia. Later a few more subprojects were launched: OnZinnen (Unquotable) [128] , OnBoeken (UnBooks) [129] and Oncycloversiteit (Uncycloversity) [130] . Oncyclopedia also has its own radio station OnRadio [131] [132] , which is available for listening only through the Dutch blog of the Netherlands Ancyclopedia. Netherlands Ancyclopedia gained fame thanks to articles about Emo (subculture) , Tokio Hotel and Suicide . These articles were highly criticized, but all claims were rejected by the project administrators as unfounded. The blocking of participants in the Dutch Ancyclopedia is practiced when using obscene words [133] . At the end of May 2011, Oncyclopedia had more than 2,150 articles [13] .

Also in the Netherlands Ancyclopedia there is the "Oncyclopolis Project" [134] . It represents the fictional city-state of Oncyclopolis. У каждого участника нидерландской Анциклопедии существует своя система рейтинга (основанная на количестве написанных статей, правах участника и читательского рейтинга), сопоставимая с системой английской Анциклопедии.
