Ventrilo ( abbreviated as Vent) is a computer program , a system of voice communication in IP networks ( VoIP ) [1] . Its main purpose is voice communication in team computer games , such as Call of Duty , Counter-Strike , Dota , Aion and various games of the MMORPG genre. The program can be activated as a keyboard or mouse button, and voice level. The client and server versions of Ventrilo are free for up to 8 people. There is an unofficial version of Ventrilo for iPhone and iPod Touch - Ventrilode . Basically, Ventrilo uses two codecs - GSM Full Rate and Speex.
