Biography

He gained fame as an effective fight against the Dagestan and Chechen Wahhabis , including the Shariah Jamaat . In the fall of 1999, he participated in the planning and conduct of military operations during the invasion of militants in the Republic of Dagestan .

Murder

Magomedtagirov survived several attempts on his life related to his professional activities, in which he was wounded and shell-shocked. Rappani Halilova is suspected of involvement in them. He was killed by three sniper hits in Makhachkala on June 5, 2009 .

On June 9, 2009, President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, at a meeting of the heads of regions of the Southern Federal District in Makhachkala, announced his intention to award posthumously the title of Hero of Russia to Adilgerey Magomedtagirov. The corresponding decree was signed on June 10, 2009 . [3] .

Investigation

February 24, 2010 the Investigative Committee at the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation announced the disclosure of the murder of Adilgere Magomedtagirov [4] . According to available information, the perpetrators of the crime were employees of special forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation .

According to the journalist Yulia Latynina , the reason for the assassination of General Magomedtagirov could be his position to control the spending of budget funds for shore protection work on the coast of the Caspian Sea in Dagestan [5] .

Memory
