History
The battalion was formed on 08/09/1941 in the Alakurtti area on the basis of the 3rd tank battalion of the 1st tank regiment of the 1st tank division and some other tanks that remained at the disposal of the army after the departure of the 1st tank division. Most likely (due to the absence at that time and in that area of ββsome other tanks), during the end of July - most of August 1941, it did not have a number, which is reflected in the Reference Manual of the Soviet Army.
As part of the army from 09/09/1941 to 02/13/1942 .
The battalion was armed with different types of tanks, including 13 T-28s . In the battles of July-August 1941 in the Kandalaksha direction, the battalion suffered considerable losses and on 01/09/1941 there were only 3 T-28s , as well as 12 BT , 5 T-26 and 5 LHT-133 in service . He fought there in the course of 1941 and the beginning of 1942.
02/13/1942 the battalion was renamed the 429th separate tank battalion
