Overview
In June 1970, after a year and a half break , Presley went to the studio to record new material. As a result of the work, the volume of recorded songs was enough for three albums; from their assortment were selected songs for this record, which it was decided to do in the country genre (two more songs were added from the September sessions). The variety variety of country ("crossover") at this time became predominant in this genre, and it was to this style that Elvis Presley's music began to gravitate from now on.
Instead of pauses between all the songs, a several-second fragment of the song “I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago” was superimposed. On the album you can hear cover versions of famous songs: “Snowbird” by Ann Murray , “Whole Lotta Shakin 'Going On” by Jerry Lee Lewis , “There Goes My Everything” by Engelbert Humperdink , “Make The World Go Away” by Eddie Arnold .
In 2000, an expanded edition of the album was released, supplemented by songs from the same studio sessions.
