Career

His football career began in 1998 at Monaco, where he spent 81 games, scoring one goal. In those days, “Monaco” was a strong team, successfully played in the Champions League, and therefore, many European clubs became interested in Philip. In 2000, Philippe was recognized as the best young soccer player in the French Championship.

Philip moved to Barcelona for £ 6.5 million in June 2001. But he played very few games in Barcelona.

After the transition in the 2003-04 season from the camp of blue-garnet to the French Marseille, the 26-year-old football player was overtaken by an epidemic of injuries that forced his club to break the contract with the player two years before the deadline.

He was interested in Arsenal and Moscow Spartak , but both clubs refused to buy it because of an injury. [2]

As a result, Kristanval moved to Fulham, in which he became a base player. But all the same injuries prevented him from playing. In 2008, his contract with Fulham ended, and the club did not renew it. Philip became a free agent, he was interested in Blackburn Rovers . There were reports that he could go to the Toronto MLS club, but this did not happen. And after several months without football, Kristanval decided to end his career. [3]

Personal life

On October 31, 2003, Kristanval declared that he had converted to Islam [4] , as confirmed by his French teammate Thierry Henry [5] . Kristanval also stated that he had been fasting for the month of Ramadan for many years, and that the team coaches were not against it [6] .
