By the middle of the XXII century, resources on the surface of the Earth were gradually depleted, and people set out to look for them on the ocean floor. As a result, mining stations were created in the depths of the Pacific , Atlantic and Indian oceans . Many states have built these deepwater stations so that workers and engineers can extract the wealth of the oceans. Despite this, new sources of minerals could not cover the ever-growing need. When the surface resources were finally completely depleted, the time came for destruction and war. In the struggle for the remnants of the earth's resources, the former allies became enemies and recalled old conflicts.

Without hesitation, humanity completely destroyed the very foundation of life on the surface of the Earth. After a series of resource wars, nuclear weapons completed the destructive work of man, turning land into a radioactive desert. When the last hope for the survival of mankind disappeared, people fled under the surface of the oceans.

Former ore mining stations have become a haven for those who are lucky enough to pay to enter this underwater world. The poorest were left on a lifeless surface, doomed to painful death from radiation. Life outside the oceans became impossible after global warming radically raised sea ​​levels , and a brutal nuclear winter covered the entire surface with a layer of radioactive dust , as well as snow and ice. A forty-meter layer of dead organic matter covered the oceans, preventing the penetration of sunlight into the depths. The world plunged into darkness. But, despite this, man was still able to survive in these new conditions, creating a new life for himself in this dead world. This new world was the creation of man and received the name Aqua.

Now, in 2661 , humanity lives in huge underwater cities. Over the centuries, the old political camps have stabilized again, practically unchanged. The aqua is divided into several political camps, such as the waters of the capitalist , democratic Atlantic Federation, the oligarchic Arab Clan Union and the monarchical Russian - Japanese Shogunate . In the southern part of the Pacific Ocean there is a Tornado zone full of whirlpools , where anarchists, mercenaries, pirates, bookmakers and other unwanted members of society live, always ready to sell their souls and betray their friends.

The only company long ago monopolized the industries necessary for the survival of people under water - EnTrOx ( Eng. EnTrOx - Energy-Transportation-Oxygen ). New technologies allow ultra-fast underwater travel. On the other hand, many old technologies have either been lost or become useless. For example, satellite communications and navigation have become impossible due to the huge layer of radioactive fallout in the atmosphere, although some organizations are looking for ways to bring these opportunities back.
