Museum of the Police of New York (New York City Police Museum). Located on Manhattan Island, not far from Wall Street in New York ( USA ). Keeps a collection of things from the history of the New York Police Department (NYPD), from its foundation in 1845 to the present day.

History
It was officially established in 2000 , although it formally existed since January 1999 as a small exhibition gallery at the Police Academy of New York .
In January 2002, the museum received a separate building on Old Slip, next to the South Street Seaport on Manhattan Island.
Among the exhibits of the museum you can see:
- police uniforms of different historical periods, starting in 1853 ;
- police weapons ;
- police transport .
In addition, you can see:
- a huge 1910s camera used for photographs of those arrested;
- a file of criminals compiled according to the Bertillon system;
- a collection of copper badges (copper), thanks to which the police received the nickname "cops";
- a collection of confiscated weapons (including weapons used by the Al Capone brigade and various types of improvised weapons, such as a sawn-off shotgun in a violin case or a large club with metal spikes).
