Biography
James, a native of Yorkshire , grew up on a farm helping his father deliver groceries to Castle Howard Castle. At 16, he entered Scarborough Technical College, where for three consecutive years he became the Student of the Year.
The famous chef Anthony Warral Thompson noticed him and brought him to London , to the 190 Queensgate restaurant , and then to dell'Ugo. James traveled to France , worked in the kitchens of ancient castles - sometimes side by side with the mothers and grandmothers of ancient noble families. Returning to England, he worked for 2 years at the Chewton Glen restaurant.
In 1994, at the age of 21, James opened the Hotel and Bistro du Vin establishment in Winchester . He changed the menu of the restaurant every day, and the success was such that tables for the weekend were booked 8 weeks in advance!
TV Career
His television career began in November 96th with the show “On Start, Attention, Fry” (Ready Steady Cook); in addition, James was a frequent guest on the Saturday Cooking program ( Saturday Kitchen ). He created many of his own shows for the Carlton Food Network : Kids Eat the Funniest Things, 50 Ways to Feed Your Favorite (Whatever happens) (Fifty Ways To Feed Your Lover) For Better For Worse), Simply Fish, Scouting About And Entertaining With James. In addition, together with Anthony Warral Thompson, he led the programs “Use Your Loaf” and “Servant and Master” (Master And Servant). In January 2001, James BBC1 (Kitchen Invaders) appeared on BBC1 ; For four consecutive years, James cooked on the program "Visit to the house" (Housecall), a successful daytime show on the BBC1 channel, and also appeared on the program "Delicious Food" ( Good Food Live ).
The book “Delicious!” (Delicious!) Joined the first season of programs. The second season was called "Sweet James Martin" (James Martin Sweet). In 2004, he spent several weeks in Yorkshire filming another series of programs for UK TV , “Yorkshire's Finest,” where he bought and prepared from local products.

James has been a guest on many shows, including The Heat Is On on UK Living , Surprise Chefs, Junior Master Chef, Food & Drink ”on Air Force 2,“ Light Lunch ”on Channel 4 (English) ,“ The Vanessa Show ”,“ Home Time ”(Blue Peter),“ Laudatory hymns ” (Songs of Praise), Weekend Watchdog, Food For Thoughts, Air Force Breakfast News, Carlton Food Network Daily, Superchefs ) and The Great Escape. In addition, he appeared 45 times on the Sky 1 to 3 daytime program. In 1998, he and several cooks from the team “On Start, Attention, Fire” arranged a male strip on the BBC1 channel, collecting money for children's charity organizations. As a regular chef, James recorded the 70-series Why Weight? Program for Channel 4. He wrote a recipe column for Ideal Home Magazine, collaborated with Fresh, Delicious, and Good Air Force on weekly basis. for my own page in Garden Life magazine.
James Martin Books
His first book, Eating With James Martin, was published in October 1998, and the second, The Deli Cookbook, in the fall of 2000 . Great British Dinners was published in 2003, and Easy British Food was published in June 2005. “Great British Winter” was published in 2006 . James’s latest book, The Great British Village Show Cookbook, was released in February 2007 , along with a new series of programs on Air Force 1. Similarly, with the release of the dessert program on Air Force 2, the publication of his book, Desserts, coincided.
Other
Each year, James Martin takes part in many culinary exhibitions throughout the UK , for example, in the Derbyshire , Malvern and Yorkshire exhibitions; in 2004, he participated in the selection of the best British restaurant, fish and chips. James advertises small electric kitchen appliances from Wahl and cookware from Stellar, collaborates with Underwood, a furniture design and manufacturing company, and is a co-owner of Cadogan & James Delicatessens in Winchester. In addition, he holds two bistro restaurants on Ocean Village 1 and 2 cruise liners.
