In the 1980s was the only light truck in the USSR . Prior to this, the supply of trade organizations with such transport was traditionally entrusted to car repair factories that converted sedans and station wagons into delivery vans and pickups. Its load capacity was 450-500 kg . Used for the transport of small consignments. Because of the shape of the body got the nickname "heel". IZ-2715 was often engaged in the transportation of confectionery, from which he received the corresponding second nickname “pie” or “pirozhkovoz”.

Modifications
Produced two generations of cars Izh-2715 in various versions.
The first generation was produced in the years 1972-1982. The front of the car was borrowed from the Moskvich-412, produced at the same factory. For some export modifications, the front facing and headlights (produced by the GDR ) were installed from the Kombi IZH-2125 produced in Izhevsk in the same years.
Modifications before 1982
- Izh-2715 - passenger all-metal van . Had a double rear door. Produced in the years 1972-1982.
- Izh-27151 - pickup . Tailgate reclined down. Produced in the years 1974-1982
In 1982, the whole IZH model range was updated, instead of the grille inherited from AZLK, they received a new black IzhAvto design with round headlights. Also, a new generation has received a new hood , recessed handles and doors without vents (now very rarely there are options with vents).
Modifications after 1982
- Izh-2715-01 - passenger all-metal van . Produced in 1982-1997.
- Izh-2715-011-01 (AI-76) -014-01 (AI-93) is a passenger all-metal van.
- Izh-27151-011-01 - pickup . Produced in 1982-1997.
- Izh-27156 is a six-seat cargo-passenger variant. Produced in 1988-2001. This modification was intended both for the carriage of goods and for the short-term carriage of passengers. The design of the car basically repeated the model of a cargo van Izh-2715-01, differing from it by a transformable rear cargo compartment, along the sides of which two folding double seats were installed. In addition, in place of the deaf sides of the booth, two large windows with sliding windows for air flow and glass on the left casement of the rear door appeared. The glass in the partition separating the cabin from the cargo compartment also became movable. In the cabin at the level of the heads of the passengers placed additional soft lining and under the ceiling - ceiling light. In accordance with the requirements of passive safety , many power elements of the body were strengthened.
- There was also an export version of the Izh-27151 "Elite PickUp" with an elongated platform. In the USSR, it was known under the name Izh-27151-013-01 . Initially, the car was delivered only to Latin America (in particular, to Panama , from which the Soviet trade organization Autoexport received an order for delivery), but later it was also sold in Finland . Its name was obtained by analogy with the export name Moskvich-412 , in some markets sold as " Elite 1500 ". The main difference from pickups for the domestic market was an elongated cargo platform and square headlights, as in the Moskvich and Izh first generation. Blocks of turn signals and tail lights remained the same, from the Izh series "IE" of the last years of release. Wheelbase and technical stuffing remained unchanged.
The machine was intended for bulk lightweight goods. With an increase in the useful volume of the cargo platform, the declared carrying capacity remained the same. In the event of an overload of the car, the front axle was unloaded, and the handling was broken. It is also known that in the nineties, on the basis of such pickups , IzhMash produced for the domestic market an experimental batch of 10 cargo-passenger vehicles - with a “glazed” van. Some of them were used as ambulances, but they did not go into the series due to poor handling when loading the rear axle.
It is known that some vans were converted by their owners into cargo-passenger themselves.
In the years of the emergence of alternative forms of ownership in Russia — the same cooperative , for example — the creators of the Izh-2715 truck with a van-type body for the first time seriously thought about the possibility of producing a variant of a car whose body could be transformed into a passenger one if necessary. The Izh-27156 vehicle, which was a cargo-passenger modification of this widespread van, was actually tasked with meeting the requirements of an individual owner, cooperator.
The Izh-27156 bodywork was almost completely unified with the Izh-2715 base, but two double seats were installed along the sides of the Iža passenger and cargo passenger compartment, making the car six-seater (including the driver). In addition to passengers, it was also possible to transport a small cargo. With the seats reclined, the salon turned into a cargo compartment. In addition to the latter, the load seemed possible to place on a special trunk mounted on the roof of the car. Due to the fact that the truck body was used to transport people, some changes were made to it.
First, in the cabin, instead of the deaf side walls, there were large windows with sliding windows, one on each side, which provided both visibility and ventilation. Secondly, a window appeared in the window installed in the partition separating the cabin from the cabin. Thirdly, a hatch with a lifting metal cover appeared in the roof. And, finally, an additional cover was installed to illuminate the body, and at the head level, in order to protect passengers from bruises, they began to install special covers. The rear door lock was equipped with an additional handle - inside.
A significant part of the cars Izh-27156 produced with a deformed to 68 liters. with. engine model UZAM-412DE, working on gasoline A-76 . Such equipment was designated as Izh-271566-011 (with a standard, 75-horsepower UZAM-412E engine - Izh-271566-014).
Options
All produced variants of the appearance of the IZ-2715 can be roughly divided into four main types:
- The first option is that the side of the booth has three stiffeners, there are no ribs on the car body, the bumper and radiator lining are chrome-plated, the rear doors are smooth with a metal emblem “IZH 1500 GR”. Instead of the rear bumper - a tube consisting of three parts.
- The second option - the side of the booth has three ribs, on the car body - one. Radiator trim and front bumper painted in the color of the car. The rest is similar to the first option.
- The third option - the side of the booth has three stiffeners, on the car body there are two edges, the rear doors are smooth with I-2715 stamping. Radiator trim and front bumper painted in the color of the car. The front bumper could have fangs, and there might be a rib on the front of the booth. The rear bumper consisted of two tubes on the sides of the body.
- The fourth option - cars with a new black grille (2715-011 and 014 often had a grille in body color), recessed door handles, vyshtampovka on the roof and side of the driver's cab. There is a stiffener on the front of the booth, three vyshtampovki in the form of windows on the sides of the booth, two stiffeners on the rear doors and vyshtampovki "Izh-2715" on the right half of the back door and in the form of a window on the left. Instead of the rear bumper, the tube is in the center of the body (the tube is more, the footboard was installed on 27156, on 2715 two arcs remained on the sides), there are no side tubes. The front bumper is painted in the color of the car, and on cars in recent years of release - a black plastic bumper. It is on the basis of the fourth version Izh-27156 was produced - with one window on each side panel of the booth and behind the left door, behind the center - a step, the front bumper and radiator lining - in body color or black.

In automotive modeling
The scale model of the Izh-27151 pickup truck of mustard color was released on a scale of 1:43 in the “ Avtolegend of the USSR ” series from DeAgostini by Premium and Collectibles Trading Co ltd (China). In the same series, the model of the van Izh-27156 was released in white. In another series of DeAgostini (“Car in service”), the model of the Iz-2715-01 van is white in color, on the same scale (designated simply as Izh-2715). In the USSR (and then in Russia), at the Saratovsky plant “ Tantal ” (now “ Mossar ”), the production of a 1:43 scale model of a pickup truck was launched under the name “Moskvich-pickup”; However, this model has vertical taillights (borrowed from the first version of the "Moskvich-408"), and its prototype was a non-serial car, produced in Moscow, and not in Izhevsk.
The Orel Publishing House (Kherson, Ukraine) in the magazine “Paper Modeling” No. 269 issued a cardboard composite car model at a scale of 1:25 (model designer is S. Obidin).
