Alexander Sergeevich Kakovin ( August 15, 1910 , Kharkov ) - Soviet chess composer ; USSR Master of Sports in Chess Composition ( 1968 ). Patent examiner. Since 1936 published about 400 chess compositions (more than half - etudes ). At the competitions he was awarded 120 distinctions, including 40 prizes (13 first). Finalist of 4 personal championships of the USSR, in the 6th championship ( 1962 ) - 6th place in studies.
