The Astrakhan district is an administrative-territorial unit of the Lower Volga Region and the Stalingrad Region , which existed in 1928 - 1930 and 1937 - 1943 .

District 1928-1930
Astrakhan district was formed in 1928. The center of the district was the city of Astrakhan .
According to data from 1929, the okrug was divided into 10 districts: Astrakhan , Vladimirovsky , Enotaevsky , Zelenginsky , Ikryaninsky , Kamyzyaksky , Krasnoyarsk , Marfinsky , Kharabalinsky and Chernoyarsky .
July 30, 1930 Astrakhan district, like most other districts of the USSR, was abolished. Its areas were transferred to the direct subordination of the Lower Volga region.
District 1937-1943
The Astrakhan District was re-formed on July 16, 1937 for the convenience of managing remote areas of the Stalingrad Region.
According to 1938, it was divided into 8 districts: Vladimirovsky, Volodarsky , Enotaevsky, Ikryaninsky, Kamyzyaksky, Krasnoyarsk, Narimanovsky , Kharabalinsky and 1 city of regional subordination - Astrakhan.
On December 27, 1943, the okrug and the territories attached to it of the abolished Kalmyk ASSR were transformed into an independent Astrakhan region .
