Banknote tracking

Banknotes can be indexed among website users. The user can register the banknote by entering its series and number, and if the banknote was previously registered, then the website shows all the movements of the banknote using electronic cards.

Some banknotes are marked with the website’s email address before being sent on a trip (to pay for a product or service). However, in a number of countries, including Russia, marking banknotes is unacceptable. This is usually due to rules for determining the deterioration of banknotes in the country that issued the banknote.

Recognition of numbers by calculating machines

When counting banknotes, numbers and denominations are read and entered into the database .

Embedding RFID Tags

In 2003, Hitachi announced negotiations with the Central Bank of Europe to embed their mu-chip in banknotes ^[1] (according to some sources, 200 and 500 euros ^[2] ). It is assumed that such a measure will strengthen the security of banknotes and will allow to combat the legalization of proceeds of crime . On the other hand, there is a danger of infringement of the freedoms of citizens, surveillance of them. Criminals will be able to remotely determine the location and contents of the victim's wallet.

There is an opinion that RFID chips are already embedded in Euro banknotes even of a small denomination. As evidence, banknotes were placed in the microwave for several seconds, and the chips burned out with visible damage to the banknotes ^[3] .
