Pentecostal Sole Ones is a Pentecostal movement that adheres to the doctrine that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same Person. Heavenly Father is God, Creator of heaven and earth, Jesus Christ is God in the human body:
“ And without a doubt - a great piety mystery: God appeared in the flesh , justified Himself in the Spirit, showed Himself to the Angels, preached to the people, accepted by faith in the world, ascended in glory ” (1 Tim. 3:16).
The Holy Spirit is also God. But by no means the Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three different Gods. It is the same God. They insist on the only correct formula for baptism: “In the name of Jesus Christ”, and not “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”, based on the following verses:
“Peter said to them: repent, and may each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost ” (Acts 2:38).
“And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ . Then they asked him to stay with them for several days ” (Acts 10:48).
The main Pentecostal trends , as well as the rest of the Protestants [1] [2] , Catholics and Orthodox [3] [4] reject the only people as a unitary heresy . At the official level, the sovereigns have been considered a sect since 325 by the decision of the First Council of Nicaea .
At the beginning of the 20th century, the movement began to gain strength as a result of the split of Pentecostalism. In 1913 , at a congress of leaders of Pentecostal churches in Los Angeles, preacher R. McAllister gave a speech in which he refuted the existence of the trinity of God . Makalister’s ideas attracted many members of the Assembly of God , resulting in a split within the organization: about a quarter of the preachers left it and formed their own union - the United Pentecostal Church . The only ones were denied admission to the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ. The reason for this disagreement with them is the radical views of those who advocate revising established Christian dogma and orthodox tradition.
Basically, the difference between the Oneness and other Protestant teachings is that they believe in the One God (Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit) and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. But the views of single-minded communities may differ from one another. It depends on community leaders, their history, and more.
