The origin and history of the genus
Origin
The genealogical books say that the genus Naga comes from Olgerd Preg , who left for Russia from Denmark in (1294) entered the service of Grand Duke Mikhail Yaroslavich of Tver , adopted Orthodoxy under the name of Dimitrii and married the grand sister of Prince Yaroslav Yaroslavna [1 ] . His great-grandson boyar Semen Grigorievich received the nickname "Foot" (Naga). He left ( Tvver, 1495) from Moscow to Tver and was a boyar with Grand Duke Ivan III [2] . From him, according to the pedigree of tradition, went naked. His son Ivan was a boyar, and his grandson Michael (d. 1525) and one of the great-grandchildren Fyodor Nema (d. In 1558) was the trap of the Moscow way.
Until the beginning of the 16th century, the surname is not mentioned in the annals until ( 1509) in the discharge books there is an indication that Mikhail Ivanovich Naked was bestowed in lovch [1] . Prominent posts until the middle of the XVI representatives did not hold. They were voivods in the cities or on the shelves, and only Fedor Mikhailovich Naked reached the rank of okolnichy .
Proximity to the king
In 1550, Evdokia Nagaya married Vladimir Staritsky , and although after 5 years of marriage, she went to a monastery, nevertheless, this family relationship promoted the rise of the clan.
It is assumed that this rise of the Naked and the approach of the family to the court explains the marriage of Ivan the Terrible with Maria Fedorovna Naga [1] , the daughter of Fyodor Fedorovich and great-niece of Evdokia Nagaya. In the XVI and the beginning of the XVII century, nine Nagi were boyars [2] .
After the royal wedding ( 1580), the status of the family immediately strengthened. (Most of the names of members of the genus are known from the wedding rite). They receive positions, complain to the Duma offices, receive boyars, etc. But in 1584 , with the death of the king and the removal of the widow and son in Uglich , they also send out the most prominent of the Naked. The investigation of the death of Tsarevich Dmitri worsened the situation of the family - many were sent into exile or trimmed.
The change in the position of the clan did not take long for a while in the days of the False Dmitry , who began to elevate the "relatives." After being proclaimed king, Lzhedmitry granted uncle to Queen Maria Naked to Mikhail Fedorovich Nagoy a significant part of Boris Godunov ’s possessions, including the Maloyaroslavets patrimony with the village Belkin . “In 1610, Mikhail Nagoya was accused by Gonsevsky of intercourse with a“ Tushino thief ”and put under arrest, and all his property, including land, was confiscated to the treasury. In April 1611, MF Nagoya was acquitted, and on behalf of Vladislav, it was ordered to return all that was selected to him. But less than a month after the acquittal, Nagoya passed away ” [3] .
With the death of the Pretender, the Naked again ceased to play an important role. In the last period, the turmoil already stood out a little among other service people of that time.
Late period
The first Romanovs did not exalt the representatives of this kind, and the naked people did not go further than the capital in their reign.
The family of Naked stopped ( 1650) with the death of the steward Vasily Ivanovich Nagoya [2] .
