Biography

Born May 14, 1941 in Moscow . In 1964 he graduated from the Theater School (University) named. B.V. Schukin (teacher - A. A. Orochko ) and in the same year was accepted into the troupe of the State Academic Theater named after E. Vakhtangova , where he still works. He has good vocal skills and owns playing the guitar. [2]

In the movie, Kuznetsov made his debut in 1954 in the film " Certificate of Maturity " and played more than 30 film roles in film and television, including the main role in the film " Green Light ". [3] The role of the English Duke of Buckingham in the three-part musical film “ D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers ” is most famous among the roles of Alexei Glebovich. The director of the film, Georgy Yungvald-Khilkevich, literally said the following about this work: “ To the credit of Alexei Kuznetsov, it should be noted that he made a wonderful Buckingham. This is one of my favorite images. ". [4] [5] In the memory of many viewers, Kuznetsov is also known as Kirsanov Sr. from the film Fathers and Sons . [6] Currently, he does not act in films often, among his last films - roles in the films “ Testament Marriage ” and “Cliff”. [3]

In 1967, Aleksey Glebovich was invited to the department of actor’s skill as a teacher, and in 1995 - to the department of stage speech as a teacher of literary reading, where he currently works. [7]

Kuznetsov also voiced some roles in computer games, such as Heroes of Might and Magic V , World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King , Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader , The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim . [8] Students of Alexei Glebovich: A. Piskunov, A. Oleshko , S. Burunov, Dm. Pakhomov, D. Shevchenko and others repeatedly became winners of the Interuniversity Reader Competition named after Y. M. Smolensky and the All-Russian Student Reader Competition named after V.N. Yakhontov (St. Petersburg). [9]

The role of the Duke of Buckingham

One of the most prominent film roles of Alexei Kuznetsov was the role of the Duke of Buckingham in the musical film by George Yungvald-Khilkevich “ D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers ”. Composer Maxim Dunaevsky in those years was very friendly with Alexei Glebovich and recommended his director for this role. Kuznetsov came up with a slightly grotesque manner of playing: a light English accent and slipping English phrases to make Buckingham's role more vivid. In one of the interviews, the actor shared his memories of this work: “ Khilkevich and I thought for a long time how to convey the immense wealth and greatness of the duke on the screen. And we came up with this scene: when d'Artagnan arrives in England for pendants, Buckingham meets him in the courtyard of his castle, and on a leash instead of a dog he has a lioness. It seemed to us that the richest and most influential man in Europe could afford such luxury and exoticism. Either from the Odessa circus, or from some other lioness was brought, she was placed in a special aviary on the territory of the Odessa film studio. Together with the trainer, I began to prepare for the filming of this episode, they began to teach me how to behave with a predatory animal. But literally on the second day, the trainer disappeared somewhere. I suppose that the “common Russian reason” was to blame for everything, and he simply washed it down. In this regard, the director of the film, Mikhail Byalyi, refused to shoot with a lioness, because in which case he would have to answer for it. And Khilkevich urgently had to make changes to the script: before the appearance of Buckingham in the chambers of his palace, four blacks came out to meet d'Artagnan. So we shot this episode in the interiors of the House of Scientists in Odessa. ". [10]
