Ecology
There are 3 pig farms in the district. According to the website of the Moscow Regional Prosecutor's Office, as a result of an audit conducted in June 2011, it was revealed that two of these households are violating a number of veterinary-sanitary rules [31] .
Flag of the Shakhovsky District
The flag of the Shakhovsky district is a rectangular, with a ratio of width to length of 2: 3, green panel with a white strip dotted with conventional ermine tails, along the flagpole 1/4 of the flag’s length, bearing the image of the region’s coat of arms.
The flag was developed with the participation of the Union of Heraldists of Russia.
Approved by the decision of the Council of Deputies of the Shakhovsky District dated 06.12.1999 No. 36/260.
It is entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation - No. 470.
Coat of arms of the Shakhov district
The main idea of the coat of arms of the Shakhovsky district was that the district bears the name of the Princes Shakhovsky. The family estate, allegorically depicted as a nest, has been located in the village of Belaya Kolp since 1658. Therefore, the main figure was a silver (white) bird spoonbill (colp), standing in the nest.
Ermine fur symbolizes the princely origin of the Shakhovsky clan, the descendants of the Yaroslavl Rurikovich . Spoonbill is not turned in the heraldic direction - this heraldic device indicates that the Shakhovskaya land has ancient roots - the bird came from the past. Turning the head of the spoonbill up and to the right heraldic side allegorically shows the bird's aspiration for the future. Spoonbills are smart and cautious birds, living very amicably with each other, which is inherent to the residents of the region. (The bird spoonbill , the ibis family, has a long straight, flattened beak at the end in the form of a shovel.)
The green field of the coat of arms symbolizes the nature of the region, its agricultural life, and it is also a symbol of hope, well-being and health. Silver is a symbol of simplicity, perfection, wisdom, nobility, peace. Gold is a symbol of strength, wealth, greatness, intellect and insight.
Three mountains reflect the hilly terrain of the district.
