He was brought up in the Chernihiv , Orel and Roslavl gymnasiums, after graduating from the gymnasium in July 1899 , he entered the medical faculty of Moscow University. Arrested on February 23, 1901 , for participating in student unrest, he was expelled from Moscow to Roslavl under police supervision for 3 years. Together with his brothers Sergei and Roman, he joined the revolutionary organization The Group of Roslavl Intelligents . For distributing illegal literature among peasants, he was arrested in May 1902 and imprisoned in Roslavl prison. From August 1902 to July 1903 he was in the Smolensk prison. Later, together with her sister Maria, she lives in Paris, working in the League of Anarchists.
Due to the plight of the family after the death of his father, he returns to Russia. He continues to actively participate in the movement of anarchists - the literary and party pseudonym Leo the Black. The initiator of the creation of the “Federation of Mental Workers”, the publisher of the newspaper “Klich”, the founder and secretary of the discussion club “ House of Anarchy ” in Moscow.
He was repeatedly arrested for anti-Soviet activities. He was shot in the inner prison of the Cheka in the composition of nine anarchists on September 29, 1921.
