Faroe Islands Football Federation ( Fótbóltssamband Føroya [FSF] headquarters ) is an organization that monitors and controls football in the Faroe Islands . The Federation was founded in 1979, with headquarters in Torshavn . The Federation leads the development of football in the Faroe Islands and organizes a system of leagues on the islands, including the Premier League of the Faroe Islands - the highest football division. Control over the national men's ( A-Team , U-19, U-17, U-15) and women's (A-team, U-19) national teams of all levels is also carried out by the federation.

History
Football appeared on the Faroe Islands at the end of the 19th century . First Football League - Faroe Islands National Football League was formed in 1942 . From 1942 to 1978, the Faroese Football Association was responsible for general management of the Faroese football. January 13, 1979 is the founding date of the Faroe Islands Football Federation.
At the beginning of its activities, the federation was engaged in the general organization of football on the islands. In 1985, Faroe Islands National Women's Football was organized. Since the 1980s, the training process for coaches and referees has been organized, first with the support of the Danish Football Union , and since the mid-1990s on an independent basis.
On July 2, 1988, the Faroe Islands received FIFA membership [2] , and on April 18, 1990 joined UEFA [3] . After that, the Faroe Islands began to take part in official international competitions held by these organizations.
