Creation History

At the end of 1989, the producer Vladimir Maslov organized the “Bright Way” group, whose soloist was Alexei Svetlichny, an unknown person. The recorded magnetic album contained (according to various sources) 6 or 7 songs [1] . Project participants were also Oleg Khromov and Sergey Vasyuta.

From an interview with S. Vasyuta in Treasure Island magazine in 1991:

Our team was formed at the end of 1990. To begin with, at the Nika studio we recorded our first magneto album called “White Veil”, the songs from which “February Night”, “Scarlet Roses”, “White Veil” instantly spread across the country. Then we decided to go to a meeting with the audience. The first concerts took place in February 1991 in the Donetsk region. Since then we have been constantly on the road, on tour. At the end of 1991, we decided to increase the number of fans and recorded the second magnetic album, “Barefoot Girl” ...

Then, a split occurs in the group, as a result of which the beginning of 1991 is marked by the release of two albums performed by different voices: on one tape O. Khromov appears on the soloist, and on the other - S. Vasyuta. In both albums there are songs “On the White Veil of January” and “Night February”.

Unfortunately, the musicians who were at the origins of the development of the group “Sweet Dream”, having left it, interpret the subsequent history in different ways and still cannot agree on the authorship of many compositions [2] [3] . Most of the sources telling about the group from 1992 to the present day are based on data from the site of S. Vasyuta, who is currently the copyright holder of TM "Sweet Dream" and proves authorship of most songs of the group [4] .

About the group

The first album of the group with the most famous compositions was re-released by O. Khromov as a solo. Songs from it were performed by various musical groups and individual soloists (including A. Razin , A. Svetlichny, R. Maslov, M. Samoshin).

In 1992, a new album, "Sweet Dream", called "Barefoot Girl", appeared. Since that time, the soloist of the group is S. Vasyuta. In album releases, he is also the songwriter.

In the mid-90s, V. Maslov made an attempt to create a group with the same name. Two albums with vocals of M. Samoshin and Ruslan Maslov (son of Vladimir) are released. Vasyuta sues the former producer and soon wins the case; Maslov-Samoshin’s next album is being released without reference to the Sweet Dream brand.

S. Vasyuta seriously takes up the promotion of the group. He publishes new albums, tours a lot around the country and abroad. “Sweet Dream” becomes a regular participant in the television programs “50x50”, “Starry Rain”, “ Sound Track ”.

Vasyuta spends most of her time in Germany , in Russia she performs at corporate events, national concerts of “80s stars” [5] . Repeatedly, "Sweet Dream" performed at the same venues with Bosson and Bad Boys Blue .

Under the auspices of Sergei Vasyuta, the project "Disco of the USSR" is being developed. Musical groups of the 80s era perform with the group "Sweet Dream".
