Checkinstall

CheckInstall is a computer program for Unix-like operating systems, designed to facilitate the installation and removal of software compiled from source codes , using the package management system native to the distribution . After compiling the software, checkinstall can automatically generate a Slackware -, RPM - or Debian- compatible package, which can then be completely removed through the appropriate package manager. This feature is preferred when installing any packages.
