Biography
Peters Ernst Karlovich was born on February 19, 1813, a nobleman. He was educated in Courland , in one of the private institutions. Then, as a boy, entered the military service assistant fireworker . He participated in the events of 12/14/1825 on the Senate Square of St. Petersburg , in artillery units, on the side of Nicholas I. After military training on January 19, 1829, he was promoted to the firework of the 3rd Artillery Brigade.
Ernst Peters took part in the suppression of the 1831 Polish uprising . He fought in the battles near Minsk , Vaver and Grokhov . For his courage and courage he was awarded the Medal of Honor of the Military Order of St. George (George's Cross) No. 53350 and on May 26, 1831 he was promoted to warrant officer . Then Ernst Peters distinguished himself in the battle of Ostrolenka , for which he received the Order of Saint Anna of the 4th degree "For Bravery", and on March 17, 1833 he was transferred to the 20th Artillery Brigade, where on July 23, 1834 he was promoted to lieutenant .

On August 26, 1856, Ernst Karlovich Peters was promoted to major general , and on January 12, 1863, he was appointed commander of a reserve equestrian artillery brigade.
Subsequently, General Peters held consecutive posts: Chief of the 2nd Consolidated Reserve Artillery Division from March 26, 1863, and from December 2, 1863 to August 10, 1864, the Chief of Backup Artillery.
