Biography
Born April 25, 1938 in Moscow .
Parents worked all their lives at the factory. He started in Moscow at the stadium βYoung Pioneersβ with coach Vladimir Georgievich Blinkov. Chemist (Moscow) also trained at this stadium, where Ivanova was soon invited by coach Nikolai Epstein. After the team moved to Voskresensk , he moved to the Moscow Wings of the Soviets .
He played in Wings for 5 years in tandem with Alfred Kuchevsky . For a long time he refused to go to CSKA , and only after talking with Tarasov decided to play in CSKA.
Going to CSKA, he began to regularly get into the USSR team. In CSKA and the national team he played in tandem with Ragulin and with the three of attack Loktev-Aleksandrov-Almetov (they played with the three for about 2 years).
He scored 5 goals in the Olympic Tournament of 1964, and 2 goals in the national championship of 1963/64.
He was on the list of 34 best hockey players of the USSR in 1964.
Frequent violations of the sports regime led to the loss of a place in the USSR national team, and then in CSKA.
Member of the CPSU since 1972. After the playerβs career, he worked in the sports club of MBO, was responsible for the formation of teams in several sports for the championship of the Armed Forces.
In 1979-88 he worked as the head of the Sports School of CSKA. According to Ivanov, he considers Alexander Mogilny, who was brought from Khabarovsk, to be his main discovery.
In the 1990s, he worked as deputy president of the veteran movement Alexander Ragulin .
Retired lieutenant colonel.

- At the 1964 Olympics, he won the prize of the best striker, which was caused by an unusual decision of the organizing committee, which transferred the prize to the Soviet team for independent selection of the best player.
