The Queensland Orchestra was formed in 2001 as a result of the merger of the Queensland Symphony and Queensland Philharmonic Orchestras. The main sources of financing the orchestra are private sponsors, in addition, it is partially funded from the federal budget of Australia, as well as the Queensland government. The orchestra regularly performs at various concert and theater venues in Australia. The Queensland Orchestra spends most of its concerts in three concert halls: the Queensland Performing Arts Center, the University of Brisbane Concert Hall and the Brisbane City Concert Hall.
