History
WIS was founded in 1994 by the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences .
The institute studies almost all areas of oriental studies : languages, literature, ethnology, history, religion, economics, management, information systems, etc. The studied regions cover two thirds of the world - from the Far East to North Africa and from China to Australia .
The Institute of the East is in many ways a breakthrough, promising project. He not only contributes to the development of modern oriental studies, but also is able to make a significant contribution to its further development. First of all, due to the concentration of the necessary academic resources, the development of a strong culture of excellence, especially in research, which is the result of phased progress over two decades, and taking into account the joint activities and experience of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences - and centuries. The training programs were developed by scientists of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; they are the authors of textbooks and original techniques. Out of 85 people - university professors - 1 academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of historical sciences , 35 professors of doctors of sciences , 30 people - candidates of sciences .

The basic concept laid down in the content of educational programs is to provide a high level of theoretical knowledge, build interdisciplinary connections in the educational process, strengthen the practical component and update the educational process. Training tasks and plans are timely processed as new goals and tasks formulated in the state policy of the Russian Federation appear.
Within all these specialties, students master two foreign languages - English and Oriental ( Arabic , Japanese , Chinese , Turkish , Hindi , Indonesian , Korean , Farsi and Thai ) in the amount of 16 hours a week.

Center for Continuing Education
The Institute of Oriental Countries provides courses in Eastern and European languages, preparatory courses for the exam , as well as the School of Young Oriental Studies (free). [four]
The scientific sector is represented by the Scientific and Student Society (NSO) and the Discussion Club, which work according to plans drawn up in accordance with the interests and wishes of students of different courses. The NSO organizes scientific events, during which students get the opportunity to join in scientific activities. With the participation of teachers, reports and messages are prepared and submitted for general discussion at the annual student conference in April-May.
