Vidamara , Z. Tarrash , R. Shpilman and others); Ostend ( 1907 ) - 12-14th; St. Petersburg ( 1909 ) - 8-10th place. Successfully played in four tournaments in Berlin (1909) - 1-2nd (with R. Teichmann ) and 1914 - 1-2nd (with R. Shpilman); in international tournaments in Stockholm (1912) - 2nd (after A. A. Alekhin ) and Abbey (1912; gambit tournament) - 3-4 places (with R. Reti ). Lost the match R. Shpilman 1: 2 (1906).
