Biography
Since 1937, he worked for more than 20 years at the iron and steel enterprises of the Dnipropetrovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.
He graduated from the Dneprodzerzhinsky Metallurgical Institute in 1941 . He became the chief engineer of the Dzerzhinsky Metallurgical Plant in Dnepropetrovsk (194? Year). Candidate of technical sciences (19 ?? year).
Adopted by the CPSU (b) in 1941.
In the apparatus of the Central Committee of the CPSU - in 1958 - 1960 .
In the apparatus of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR - in 1960 - 1963 .
In 1963 - 1964, assistant secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.
In 1964 - 1966, assistant to the first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Brezhnev,
In 1966 - 1983, the assistant to the general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU (Brezhnev, then Andropov for some time).
Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1966 - 1971 (replaced by A.M. Alexandrov-Agents ).
Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1971 - 1986 .
In 1983 - 1985 - First Deputy Head of the Department of the Central Committee of the CPSU for work with foreign personnel. He was primarily concerned with issues of economics and industry [1] .
According to eyewitnesses, from the side it seemed quiet and inconspicuous, although in fact it had great power and influence on Brezhnev, communicating with him every day.
Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from the 7th to 11th convocations.
Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR, Honored Metallurgist of the Ukrainian SSR. He was awarded three Orders of Lenin , the Order of the October Revolution , two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor , the Order of the Badge of Honor and medals.
In 1985, retired.
He died in 2001, was buried in the Novodevichy cemetery .
In Dneprodzerzhinsk there is a museum dedicated to G. Tsukanov.
Family
Wife Tsukanova Evgenia Ivanovna (1918-2004). Daughter Tsukanova Lidia Georgievna (1940-2016). Lived and worked in Moscow. Has a daughter and two granddaughters. Son Tsukanov Mikhail Georgievich (1945-1972). He worked at the embassy of the USSR in Australia. Tragically died on August 5, 1972 in the line of duty in Canberra ( Australia ). Marked on the “Memorial Board” of Soviet diplomats, employees of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs who died in the line of duty, located in the central building of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
