Biography
War and post-war childhood spent in Sokolniki, near the stadium at the club Rusakov. At a very early age, he was noticed by the coaches “ Spartak and made his debut in the official match in Petrozavodsk when he was in the ninth grade. In the same game he was recognized as the best player of the match.
According to its body size, Loktev “was too small” (A. Tarasov). CSKA partner E.Babich even suggested that Loktev go to play hockey with the ball, since there is less competition there and with his height he can be and will become a star there. But Vsevolod Bobrov still insisted on leaving Loktev in the team. And it was Babich Konstantin Loktev who took the place of CSKA on the right side of the attack.
Soon, Anatoly Tarasov created the top three Almetov-Loktev-Alexandrov , who for more than 7 years admired hockey circles of the whole world.
Families were friends with Veniamin Alexandrov , and found peace in Almetov’s apartment. It was he who patted about the place in the cemetery after Almetov's death in 1992 .
After the victorious World Championship in 1966, Loktev was offered to work as a coach in Yugoslavia. But because of the large deductions to the state’s treasury, they broke the contract from Loktev’s salary and Konstantin returned to Moscow. The previous injuries, one-year break in training did not allow him to gain a foothold in the CSKA. Konstantin Loktev ended his career as a player and took up coaching. With the help of A. Tarasov, he rose to the head coach of CSKA.

In 1976-77 - coach of the first national team of the USSR. After third place in the World Cup in 1977, Loktev was dismissed.
Subsequently, he worked as a civil defense engineer, safety engineer at the Research Institute of Printing Industry, an inspector at a construction site and a vice-president of a joint-stock company. From 1993 to 1994 - Vice-President of the Russian Hockey Federation .
He died of liver cirrhosis on November 4, 1996 at the Burdenko Hospital. He was buried at the Transfiguration Cemetery .

- Champion of the USSR 1955, 1956, 1958-1961, 1963-1966. The second prize-winner of the USSR championship 1957. The third prize-winner of the USSR championship 1962. In the USSR championships - about 340 matches, scored 213 goals.
- Winner of the USSR Cup 1955, 1956, 1961 and 1966.
- Under the leadership of Loktev, CSKA (Moscow) - champion of the USSR 1975, 1977.
- He was awarded the Order "Badge of Honor" (1965), the medal "For Labor Valor" (1975).
- In 2007 he entered the IIHF Hall of Fame .
- He was in the list of 34 best hockey players of the USSR in 1964.
