Sports career
Start
Anastasia first tried her hand in protest in April 2005, playing for the national team in the Federation Cup. A few months later - in July - the Latvian athlete also played in the regular series competition for the first time, taking part in the small prize of the federation tour in Germany . The path to the first finals at this level took a year - in July 2006, Sevastova twice gets to the title matches on clay 10-thousanders, winning one title. In May 2007, the first victory was won over the Top200 player - on the way to the finals at the tournament in Antalya, Virginie Pisce from France was replayed. And a couple of weeks later, they managed to beat the first time the Pinterest player - at the WTA debut tournament in Istanbul , the 99th racket of the world Anastasia Ekimova from Belarus was replayed. In June 2008, Anastasia made her debut at the Grand Slam tournaments - in the Wimbledon qualification , they could not win the match either. A few weeks later, the Latvian athlete for the first time reached the title match in the pair competition of the federation: together with Lenka Vinerova, they managed to win the 25-thousander in Katowice .
In May 2009, she won a major ITF tournament in Johannesburg . Three weeks later, the debut at the base of the solo competition of the adult Grand Slam tournament took place - having qualified for Roland Garros , a Liepāja native stumbled in the first round on the 62nd racket of the world Melinda Zinc from Hungary . A few months later - in September - the first victory was won in the main competition of the Grand Slam tournament - Anastasia, already eliminated from having to qualify, replayed at the start the 90th racket of the world Tamarin Tanasugarn from Thailand , after which she first played with the Top10 player - she managed to get from Svetlana Kuznetsova 6 games in 2 sets. Soon, the first victory over the Top25 player of the single rating took place - in the second round of the tournament in Guangzhou Anabel Medina Garrigues from Spain was replayed. The season manages to finish on the 79th line of the single rating.
2010-11
In March 2010, he won his first victory over Top10 - in the first round of the tournament in Mexican Monterrey, the 9th racket of the world, Elena Yankovich, was replayed. A few days later, Anastasia improves her achievement in the WTA single player tournaments - in the semifinals, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova completes her Mexican voyage. At the end of the tournament, she raised the bar for a better result in a single rating to a new level, becoming the 63rd. Then the Latvian prima reaches the third round in Indian Wells (yielding to Vera Zvonareva ). The European soil season began on the 100-thousandth in the French Cagnes-sur-Mer - in the 1/4 finals, the future winner Kaya Kanepi stopped Sevastova. And then there was the first major success in a solo career - at the tournament in the Portuguese Oeiras, Anastasia, beating Agnesh Sawai and Peng Shuai , gets to the finals, where in the match with Arancha Parra Santonha she won the main prize of the competition. In the single player rating rises in Top60. Before Roland Garros, the Latvian tennis player marks the quarter-final in Strasbourg , losing to future finalist Cristina Barrois . Before the North American season, they managed to score two quarter finals on hard - in Budapest and Bad Gastein . The main success of the further segment of the season came at the tournament in Beijing . Anastasia, starting the tournament with qualifications, goes through Dominica Tsibulkova and Samantha Stosur and gets to the quarter-finals. The year ends on the 45th line of the single rating.
The new season began in December 2010. Sevastova, being the second seeded, reached the quarter finals of the competition in Dubai , where she lost to Boyana Jovanovsky . Then she reaches the fourth round at the Australian Open , beating Polona Herzog and Ioannina Wickmayer . Until the end of the hard season, the representative of Latvia also writes down the quarter-finals of the competition in Monterrey . In March, health problems worsen, and Anastasia reduces her calendar to a minimum. Until the end of the year, she only wins more than one match in one tournament twice, falls to the border of the first and second hundreds, but does not recover completely: hip problems worsen at the final tournament in Luxembourg .
2012-15
In early 2012, Anastasia takes a break in her career, trying to heal. Returning to the tour in early May, she begins to gradually regain her former playing conditions: first, the quarter-finals of the 100-thousand-strong player in Prague were won (two players won by Rambler's), then after several aggravation of injuries Sevastova gets to the final of the 50-thousand-strong player in Fersmold . Then he manages to play some more good tournaments and get in good shape to the start of the US Open , where the Latvian tennis player gets to the final of the selection, losing to Magdalena Rybarikova , a few weeks before that she won the title at the WTA competition. In the fall of 2012 and the beginning of 2013, various injuries reappeared: Sevastova does not play very much and, as a rule, loses to any more or less strong opponents. A local surge occurs at the prize in Pattaya , where Anastasia from qualification breaks into the quarterfinals of the base, simultaneously defeating Heather Watson . Such performances did not suit the Baltic tennis player too much; taking another pause in games in mid-March, she announced the end of her professional career in early May [3] .
In 2015, Sevastova makes an attempt to return to the professional tournament; at the end of January at the first tournament (10 thousandth in Egypt) Anastasia manages to win in singles and doubles [4] .

Season 2019
At the Australian Open, she reached the 1/8 finals, where she lost to the future winner of the tournament, Japanese Naomi Osaka in three sets, leading 1-0 in sets.
In February, she won two singles matches at the Fed Cup. In Doha and Dubai, Anna Blinkova and Xie Shuwei lost in the first rounds, respectively.
In April 2019, Sevastova took part in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix , where she reached the quarterfinals, but lost to the future winner of the tournament, Czech tennis player Petr Kvitova, although Anastasia was left with the score 6-2, but then the Czech woman returned to the game and took both sets in a row: 6-2, 6-3.
National Team and National Tournaments
A quick exit to the level of leaders of national tennis allowed Sevastova to hold her first games for the national team in the Federation Cup shortly after her fifteenth birthday. Further, until 2011, almost every season Anastasia took part in this, having played 23 matches in the tournament and gained 15 victories in them, and the Latvian team, before balancing between the second and third groups of its regional zone of the tournament, was able for the first time in ten years break into the elite group of this part of the prize.
