Production and sales of the car began in 2009. The car received the name Panamera due to the successful performance of Porsche in the Carrera Panamerican race, which took place in the 50s of the XX century [1] . As of September 2010, over 25,000 vehicles have been sold. In the summer of 2013, the Panamera survived the modernization, the running and rear lights freshened up, and improvements in the cabin appeared.

Specifications

Engine

Porsche Panamera is equipped with a new engine [2] . However, in order to place these engines under a lower hood, Porsche engineers had to “flatten” the pans of the crankcase, and on all-wheel drive versions, also pass the left front wheel drive shaft through the cylinder block. Also , the crank mechanism has undergone modifications. Friction was reduced and the mass of rotating parts was reduced by 16.5% (9.5 kg). The operating temperature of the motors has become higher, which has increased the efficiency of the engines. However, an increase in engine efficiency was not converted to power, but to fuel economy. In Sport Plus mode, the silencers open the dampers to reduce the back pressure, which leads to an increase in power.

Body

Porsche panamera

The flat bottom and sloping roof provide Panamera S versions with a drag coefficient of 0.29. For cars with turbocharging and intercoolers in the front bumper, the Cx is slightly worse - 0.3. A lift-and-slide spoiler is installed at the rear, which at an speed of 250 km / h creates an additional clamping force of 650 Newtons.

Most of the power “cell” of the body is welded from hot-formed steel, hardened or heavy-duty. The front side members are aluminum, they are riveted to the steel parts through gaskets that prevent electrochemical corrosion. All hinged parts are made of aluminum. The frames of the radiator and doors are cast from a magnesium alloy and are subject to repair in case of an accident.
