The Communist Party faction in the State Duma of the first convocation - the deputy association of the Communist Party in the State Duma of the first convocation (1994-1995).
On February 13-14, 1993, the Second Extraordinary Congress of the Communist Party of the RSFSR was held, at which it was restored and renamed the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (Communist Party). The chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party was Gennady Zyuganov .
In September 1993, the Communist Party condemned the dispersal of the Supreme Council by B. Yeltsin , and after October 4, its activities were banned by the authorities for several days.
On October 26, 1993, the Communist Party put forward its all-federal election list of candidates, which received 12.40% in the election (6,666,402 votes) and 32 seats in the State Duma. 10 candidates from the Communist Party won in single-member districts.
On January 13, 1994, the Communist Party faction was registered with 45 deputies. The faction nominated Valentin Kovalev to the post of chairman of the Duma, who withdrew in favor of Ivan Rybkin. The faction received the posts of deputy chairman of the Duma (V. Kovalev), chairmen of security committees ( V. Ilyukhin ), affairs of public associations and religious organizations ( V. Zorkaltsev ), 7 deputy chairmen of Committees and chairman of the Mandate Commission ( V. Sevastyanov ).

Activities
On February 23, 1994, the faction voted in favor of an amnesty for members of the State Emergency Committee and participants in the events of September-October 1993 . They were released after the publication of the amnesty decree.
On October 22, 1994, at a plenary session of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the party demanded that the Prime Minister of Russia Chernomyrdin resign at least Chubais , Shokhin , Kozyrev , Erin and Grachev . On October 27, 1994, 45 out of 46 deputies of the faction voted for distrust of the Chernomyrdin government , Vice-Speaker V. Kovalev did not vote.
On June 21 and July 1, 1995, the faction voted again for distrusting the Chernomyrdin government.
In June – July 1995, the faction collected 150 signatures to begin impeachment of the President . However, on July 12, 1995, the Duma did not get 226 votes for the decision to create a special commission to bring charges (“for” - 168) [1] .
List of Deputies
On November 1, 1994, deputy V. S. Martemyanov was beaten up by unknown persons ; on November 5, he died in a hospital. On November 18, his mandate was transferred to V. A. Leonchev .
V. Kovalev, after his appointment as Minister of Justice on January 10, 1995, was expelled from the faction. As the faction stated, "while maintaining the current anti-people course of the president and the government, there can be no talk about the participation of communists in the government, guilty of the destruction of our great country."
On February 6, 1995, A. I. Lukyanov , who was part of S. N. Baburin 's Russian Way group, joined the faction. On May 14, 1995, by-election in the Kolomna District was won by a candidate from the Communist Party G.S. Titov .
