Biography

Born in 1905 in Kharkov in a Jewish family. He graduated from the operator department of the State Customs Committee (1929) and the faculty of literature of Moscow State University. He worked at the Sovkino film studio - TSSDF , cameraman (since 1929) and director (in 1932-1946). During the Great Patriotic War - director of photography at the Central Newsreel Studio on the Western, Bryansk, 2nd Baltic, Transbaikal fronts. Member of the CPSU (b) .
