Biography and academic studies
In 1963 he graduated from the natural-geographical faculty of PSPI (1963). In 1962-63 teacher Kalinin school Pachelm. district; in 1964-1967 graduate student (Moscow region. Ped. Institute). KA Timiryazev Academy of Sciences of the USSR; since 1979 again Assoc. kaf bot PSPI. Doc. Diss: "The manifestation of sex in plants and its hormonal regulation" (1980).
The area of scientific interests is the evolution and regulation of sex in plants, ontogenesis, growth, development and productivity of plants, phytohormones. On the basis of theoretical and experimental studies, an ecological-hormonal-genetic concept of the manifestation of sex in plants has been developed and substantiated. The results of scientific and methodical work are published in more than 280 scientific articles and textbooks. Several articles have been published in international and central journals (“Planta”, “Naturwissenschaften”, “DAN”; “Dokl. VASKhNIL (RAAS)”; “Plant Physiology”; “Cytology”; “Agricultural Biology”, etc.). Received 4 patents for inventions. Repeatedly spoke at international conferences and at many All-Union and All-Russian conferences and symposia. Chairman of the Commission on the organization of the state natural reserve " Volga forest-steppe ". Editor of the "Nature" section of the Penza Encyclopedia. Under the leadership of V. N. Khryanin, 11 Ph.D. theses were defended, 15 international, All-Russian conferences and symposia on plant physiology, protection and rational use of natural ecosystems and biological resources, V Congress of the Society of Plant Physiologists of Russia (2003) were held.
