Promised Land (from the English Promised Land ) is the twentieth studio album of American singer Elvis Presley , named for the title track written by Chuck Berry , released in 1975 . The disc took 47th place in the American charts .

Overview
In December 1973, Presley returned to Stax Studios in his hometown Memphis after a poor session in June of that year. Despite agreeing to work, Presley in most cases only sang songs to the minimum accompaniment, leaving the musicians later to modify the tracks themselves. As a result of the December sessions, about twenty tracks were recorded, which went to two albums, " Good Times " (1974) and "Promised Land". The next year, in 1974, Presley did not work in the studio. Due to the lack of new material for albums, the label at that time went on to release many different collections, which was previously not typical for Presley.
In general, records of this period are imbued with nostalgia and a depressed mood associated with problems in the family. Basically, these were country ballads and blues. RCA selected most of them for the Good Times album, the rest of the songs remained for Promised Land, including the title rock and roll of Chuck Berry in 1964 .
