Tyurin, Victor Alexandrovich

Viktor Aleksandrovich Tyurin (1932-1996) - Soviet volleyball coach. Honored Trainer of the USSR ( 1972 ).

Since 1971, he worked as a coach of the USSR women's volleyball team , champion of the 1972 Olympic Games , Europe 1971 and 1975, silver medalist of the 1974 world championship. At the same time, head coach of the women's youth team, world champion 1975. He headed the USSR team after retiring from the post of head coach G. Ahvlediani . He led the team to the title of European Champion 1977 and the 3rd prize-winner of the 1978 World Cup.

V.A. Tyurin was the author of a number of books and methodological manuals on volleyball.
