Biography
Oleg Chekhov's coaching career began in 1949 in the SKIF women's volleyball team (Moscow), which he headed until 1951. In 1951-1955, he coached the USSR men's youth team, and in 1954-1956, the national team of the Soviet Union . In 1963-1966, he was a head coach, and in 1967-1969, a coach (assistant G. Akhvlediani ) of the USSR women's team - European champion 1963 and 1967, silver medalist of the 1964 Olympic Games , champion of the 1968 Olympics . In 1973-1978 - senior coach of the women's team “Locomotive” (Moscow) .
In 1951 he worked in the GDR as a consultant coach of the country's Volleyball Federation. In 1957-1963 - coach of the volleyball department of the All-Union Committee on Physical Culture and Sports under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, in 1969-1973 - trainer-methodologist of the USSR Volleyball Federation. In 1979-1983, he was the head coach of the sports games department of the RSFSR Sports Committee.
In 1953-1963, along with coaching, Oleg Chekhov judged the games of the USSR championships, and in 1962, 1970 and 1974 also judged the games of the world championships for women. In 1957-1976 - member of the FIVB Judicial Commission. In 1957 he was awarded the title of judge of the All-Union, and in 1972 - the international category. In 1979-1992 - member of the Presidium of the All-Union College of Judges.
In 1951-1973 Oleg Chekhov was a member of the Presidium of the All-Union Volleyball Section, the USSR Volleyball Federation. In 1991-2003, he was a member of the Presidium of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (WFV) , in 1991-1999 and 2001-2003, he was a vice-president of the WFV. In 1992-2003 - Chairman of the All-Russian College of Judges.
O.S. Chekhov is the author of scripts for educational films, books, manuals and developments in volleyball.
Member of World War II . In 1941-1944 he fought on the South-Western and Voronezh fronts. Cavalier of the orders of the Red Star , World War II degree , medals. For achievements in sports he was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1969), and honorary badges.
