Marek Seglins ( Latvian. Mareks Segliņš ; born July 4, 1970 , Aizpute ) - Latvian statesman.
He graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Latvia ( 1993 ). For a short time he worked as an investigator in Liepaja, then as a judge, in 1994-1998 . was an assistant lawyer, then a lawyer.
In 1998 , he was elected to the Sejm of the Republic of Latvia of the seventh convocation, a member of the Legal and Economic Commissions. In 1999 - 2002 - Minister of Internal Affairs. In 2002 - 2006 - deputy of the Seimas of the eighth convocation, chairman of the Legal Commission; since April 2005, a non-staff adviser to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers on internal affairs. In 2006 , he was elected to the Seimas of the ninth convocation, and again headed the Legal Commission. On December 20, 2007, he took the post of Minister of the Interior for the second time. In 2008 - 2009 led the People’s Party . In 2009, he transferred to the post of Minister of Justice.
