“Courage” was a supergroup in the Western sense: the musicians of famous teams came together to play together. Played, recorded an album. And they parted. The reason for the union was the desire to play AOR and Melodic Rock . For almost half a year nothing was heard about Courage: a repertoire was being drawn up and obligations under previous contracts were being fulfilled. The band first appeared on the stage on April 26, 1989 at concerts dedicated to the thirty years of The Beatles . Two songs sounded in the program: “Blues of Russian Snows” and “Sweet and Scary”, well received by the public and critics. After which the group hid for a long time in the studio, and in the very beginning of 1990, its debut magneto album “Wind in the Manes” was released. This album turned out to be both interesting and unexpected, thanks to beautiful, slightly weighted melodic hits, blues and solo skills of instrumentalists, and at the same time, quite traditional: with refined arrangements, elegant melody, beautiful, sometimes many-voiced vocals; saturated, dense sound - all that is inherent in the leaders of "AOR and Melodious Rock" - Jon Bon Jovi , Europe and Def Leppard .
Lyrics were written by Margarita Pushkina and members of the group.
In the reissued version of the album (2002) appeared the composition "Fata Morgana", performed in an instrumental style.
In 1990, Andrei Shatunovsky was replaced by Andrei Kleiman (ex-Fort Ross) in the position of percussion [1] .
At the festival "Interchance-90" KURAZH attracted the attention of foreign producers [2] .
