Biography
Born April 18, 1881 in the Belgian city of Vrazene, which is located in East Flanders , Belgium. He completed primary education at the age of 12 and began to help his father on the farm.
April 15, 1907 entered the monastery of passionists, taking the monastic name of Isidore St. Joseph. September 13, 1908 took eternal monastic vows and became a full member of the monastic order, after which he was transferred to the monastery of passionists in the city of Kortiyk, where he performed obedience in the garden and in the kitchen.
After some time, Isidore developed an oncological disease in his right eye, which was subsequently removed. The disease progressed and gradually spread throughout the body. Despite the illness, Isidore of St. Joseph received many pilgrims who visited the monastery, thereby gaining the love of believers.
At the end of the summer of 1916, his health deteriorated sharply and he died at the age of 35 from carcinoma and pleurisy on October 6, 1916.
