During the Great Patriotic War, he distinguished himself in battles during the liberation of the city of Poznan (now Poland). On February 19, 1945, after the failure of the battalion commander, he assumed command. During the storming of the Poznań citadel, his battalion destroyed up to 400 and captured a large number of enemy soldiers and officers.

Biography
Born November 11, 1918 in the city of Derbent (now the Republic of Dagestan ). Gorsky Jew . He graduated from 10 classes of school in the city of Makhachkala (Dagestan), in 1941 - 3 courses of the geological exploration faculty of the Grozny Oil Institute [2] .
In the army since July 1941. In December 1941 he graduated from the accelerated courses of the Grozny Military Infantry School [2] .
Member of the Great Patriotic War from May 1942 as a platoon commander in the 242nd Infantry Division . May 23, 1942 in the battle on the South-Western Front was seriously wounded, was treated in a hospital in Novocherkassk . After recovery, he was sent to the Stalingrad Front , where he fought as part of the 107th Rifle Regiment ( 76th Rifle Division ) as a platoon commander of intelligence officers. September 27, 1942 was wounded a second time, but returned to service. After the third injury, he was again sent to hospital for treatment [2] .
Since the summer of 1943 - the company commander of the 246th Guards Rifle Regiment ( 82nd Guards Rifle Division ). In 1943, as part of the South-Western Front , Donbass and Left-Bank Ukraine were liberated. As part of the troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, he participated in forcing the Ingulets , Ingul and Southern Bug rivers , liberated Odessa . In July-August 1944 on the 1st Belorussian Front participated in the capture and expansion of the bridgehead on the left bank of the Vistula , liberated Warsaw and Lodz [2] .
Particularly distinguished in battles during the liberation of the city of Poznan (now Poland ). On February 19, 1945, after the failure of the battalion commander, he assumed command. "For courage and heroism shown in battles with the German fascist invaders", the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945 to guard Captain Abramov Shetiel Semenovich awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 6495) [2] .
At the end of March 1945, a battalion under the command of Sh. S. Abramov stormed the fortress of Kustrin (now Kostrzyn nadra ), and then participated in the storming of Berlin . During the war he was wounded seven times [2] .
In July 1945, he was sent to study at the MV Frunze Military Academy . He was seriously injured at the Academy training ground and could not continue his military service. Since June 1946, Major Sh. S. Abramov has been in reserve [2] .
He returned to the city of Grozny , in 1949 he graduated from the Grozny Oil Institute . Until 1992, he worked at the Grozny Oil Institute, successively occupying the following positions: laboratory assistant, assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, head of the department of general geology, dean of the geological exploration faculty [2] .
Lived in the city of Grozny ( Chechnya ), since 1993 - in Moscow . He died on May 14, 2004. He was buried at the Domodedovo cemetery in Moscow [2] .

Family
Wife - Claudia Stepanovna. During the war years, Claudia Stepanovna served as a lieutenant, commander of a battalion sanitary platoon, where Sh. S. Abramov served in 1942. Met again after the war and got married. She taught with her husband at the Grozny Oil Institute [6] .
Two children: son Simon and daughter Svetlana. Simon graduated from the Faculty of Geology of the Grozny Oil Institute and became a geophysicist , Svetlana graduated from the Pyatigorsk Institute of Foreign Languages [6] .
Memory
In Derbent , a memorial plaque was installed on the house where Sh. S. Abramov was born [2] .
