Jien (castle)

Gien Castle ( Fr. Château de Gien ) is a chateau in the city of Gien ( Loire Valley ), which challenges the Amboise Castle to be considered the first Renaissance castle of the Loire . It was erected at the beginning of the XVI century for the residence of the royal daughter of Anna de God and remained the property of the Counts de Jien until the French Revolution . In 1823 he passed to the authorities of the Loiret department. A second building is attached perpendicular to the main building. Since 1952, the castle houses the International Museum of Hunting ( French: Musée international de la Chasse ).
